Horrible company
Therapist (Former Employee) –  Augusta, MIJuly 5, 2019
Toxic environment
Horrible leadership and untrained staff provide most of the direct care with patients who pay for top of the line care. Sad to see how bad this place went downhill

Awesome place to work! Great Teamwork across the board!
Management (Current Employee) –  Augusta, MIMay 24, 2019
All of the departments at Skywood work together to get the job done, from top down. Everyone, including the CEO, are committed to providing great patient care and go above and beyond to help out! The new CEO has been very hands on involved and fantastic in improving the morale of staff! Every staff has a voice and leadership takes all of the feedback seriously and provides responses. All of the RA staff are knowledgeable and in tune with patient needs. The nurses are always friendly and willing to jump in and help out wherever needed. The Business Office staff are super flexible and accommodating. The doctors and NP are top notch! The culinary staff are fantastic and the food is great (staff get to eat too!). Leadership is very involved and always has an open door for any staff to communicate. It’s a very rewarding place to work!
Pros
$5 lunches, friendly staff, fantastic CEO, patients are getting the help they need!

Fast paced and dynamic environment- Great team work
Management (Current Employee) –  Augusta, MIMay 22, 2019
Working in behavioral health can be challenging. Fast paced and dynamic environment for sure. Its rewarding work especially when patients go on to be successful. There is a team focused culture where everyone pitches in. The MDs and nurses will even help with observation rounds when there is a need. You can tell that most folks really care about the patients and the work that they do here.

Not a good place to work
Resident Assistant (RA) (Former Employee) –  Galesburg, MIMay 10, 2019
There is no structure at Skywood, and overall with past experience working in treatment facilities, this place felt like a scam. There are just recommendations to give to the patients, but they can do whatever they want. You are a glorified babysitter to patients who are being overly medicated.

Toxic place to work
RA (Former Employee) –  Augusta, MIApril 8, 2019
Take some free advice and run for the hills. There is an extremely high turnover due to negativity and targeting. Certain groups (including leadership) tend to pick on certain people and bully them until they quit. Most of the positive people tend to quit due to the toxicity. If you enjoy chaos and unethical behavior then this is the place for you!
Pros
Pto, benefits
Cons
Leadership, work culture, turnover, lack of appreciation

Beautiful campus with discordant work culture.
Therapist (Former Employee) –  Augusta, MINovember 29, 2018
A typical day in the therapist role is fast paced, and one can be expected to shuffle priorities as they arise. During my time there I learned about an evidence based practice for those who live with PTSD as well as SUD. Management does not provide clinical supervision or training. Workplace culture is in a state of overwhelm. The hardest part of the job is identifying ones role and fulfilling that without suffering consequences as the result of mistakes. Working at a naturally beautiful location like Skywood in a rewarding role such as helping people with issues of mental health and addiction is the most enjoyable part of the job.
Pros
Beautiful setting, good food, staff are pleasant and professional.
Cons
Ineffective communication, high turnover

Terrible Management -Horrible communication
N/A (Current Employee) –  Augusta, MINovember 25, 2018
Very poor management and non existent communication between management /staff and between depts. The Management is completely ruining Skywood and patient care is suffering greatly. There is a great deal of gossip within Skywood with Management fueling it with not keeping anything confidential. There are HIPAA violations and no HR at the facility.
Cons
No HR at facility, Horrible Management, no room for advancement, & lots of gossip

Registered Nurse (Former Employee) –  Augusta, MIJuly 20, 2018
Basic nursing position with basic skills needed. Management much more concerned with making money than true patient care but you are able to make a difference if you desire. I enjoyed my time here but all staff have left since my departure due to changing work environment for the worst.

Amazing Patient Center Care
RA-Residential Assistant (Current Employee) –  Augusta, MIDecember 20, 2017
Management and the staff consistently go above and beyond in helping people that are struggling with dual diagnosis disorders. The majority of the staff are amazing to work with, however just like anywhere else there are always the toxic employees that want to go against everything and slander their own managers and coworkers. Amazing facility and workers overall. The facility is saving and changing lives on a daily basis.

Very pleasant atmosphere to work in
Medical Assistant (Former Employee) –  Augusta, MIOctober 24, 2016
A typical day at Skywood consisted of prepping charts for our providers. I worked off a manual scheduling system to ensure all patients were scheduled for their necessary appointments to see providers.
I would have to say over all, management was exceptional. I think there are always ways to improve communication between departments and would return to skywood at the drop of a hat.
My co-workers were awesome! Although there are/were personality issues at time, we all had the team attitude and worked through them.
The hardest part of the job was having to leave.
To count how many things were enjoyable would be nearly impossible.
Pros
Excellent food provided each working shift
