Senior Solutions Consultant (Former Employee) – Coconut Creek, FL – March 8, 2018
SmartBear acquired AlertSite several years ago and instead of embracing the new acquisition and employees the company treated the integration as if AlertSite was still a competitor and not part of the same organization. The sales management team was cut-throat and harsh in its treatment of employees.
Regional Account Manager - Application Development (Former Employee) – Beverly, MA – October 10, 2018
thru the door and selling. Was a great time in my career and we did very well at taking a product and brining it to market. Can't comment on today but I know there are still people we hired there 10 years later.

Siloed products, management made unrealistic demands on employees, zero work-life balance. Priorities changed on a dime, senior management was clueless (one claimed that SmartBear software was the most used software on the planet, which I am sure would surprise Microsoft, Facebook, Google...)
Sales Manager (Former Employee) – Somerville, MA – June 13, 2016
Direct Managers were great, other than that I cant think of anything good to say about this company. Horrible comp, zero understanding of role structure, growth potential, growth needs. Upper management puts out horrible plans and incentives and hopes no one notices that they are either not well thought out or intentionally deceitful.
Sales (Current Employee) – Somerville, MA – April 11, 2016
There's a lot to do no matter what role you are in. It's a collaborative environment so you always have someone to bounce an idea off of or lend some insight. You can gain a lot of experience and exposure in a short amount of time. You are given autonomy to make decisions and see work/projects through from outset to implementation and impact.
Open seating, free coffee, drinks, food, snacks. New office, great location in Assembly Row. Interesting technology, large, reliable customer base.
Can be hectic at times, some growing pains with growth.
Product Owner (Former Employee) – Peabody, MA – February 4, 2015
This was a fantastic company until the investors replaced a great CEO with a greedy, narcissistic pundit who systematically removed everyone with a sense of ethics and innovation, and replaced them with folks who will screw anyone to make a nickle this quarter. Stay away.
At an entry/Jr. level there are still great people and teams, Compensation, Work/Life balance
Pretty much everything else has been ruined by new management
Employee (Current Employee) – USA – March 26, 2014
Excellent co-workers - Great team environment/spirit - Always something new to learn (never bored) - Comfortable work environment - Great work/life balance time flexibility. Recent changes to upper management followed by layoffs have impacted the teams with a general sense of uncertainty about the future, resulting in the departure of many core team leaders, which have subsequently impacted negatively on the previously excellent dynamics.
