Cashier (Former Employee) – Mill Valley, CA – August 12, 2017
As said by the owner themself, everyone is replaceable and would rather teach someone new every few weeks than to have someone with experience stay there for longer. Each position had many other works who could do that position, so no one was special. People were often shifted around several times in the middle of their shifts do something else, most often things they absolutely hated or were not their specialty. Everyone is treated unfairly. Employee meals are purposely forgotten and it's your fault, not management.

Working at Sol Food was a great experience! I learned a lot about customer service and food prep. I would recommend this job for anyone willing to work in a fast paced restaurant who is also good with people.
It's a job that pays but that's the only thing about it

Money is ok so you don't have to worry about that plus you get tips that's the only food part other then that it can get tiring. Your always running around it's open really late it's hard for you to get days off they have to be consecutive days. Y
HR & Administrative Assistant (Current Employee) – San Rafael, CA – April 17, 2014
Sol Food is a fun and fast-paced workplace. Seeing as we stay busy pretty constantly things are constantly changing and moving. The infrastructure and overall organization of the company needs to be improved. This makes it difficult for employees to perform to the best of their abilities, as expectations are not always clearly communicated.
Daily meal allowance, enjoyable employees, this company has a LOT of potential
no medical benefits for employees other than FT management

Sol Food was great to work for. Working with the public, there really is no "typical" day. I learned how to work with a large crew and delegate tasks that needed done. The co-workers were great and like a family. The most enjoyable part of the job was working in one of the most prominent and popular restaurants in Marin.
