Company is managed poorly, don't seem to care about the clients. Everything is political - pay was poor and very little sick time- no personal days. T
Pros

A typical day as a detox clinician involves 2 clinicians doing the work of 4 clinicians, due to very open knowledge of budget cuts. Meanwhile, the manager expects clinicians to do double the work for EMBARRASSING pay. The manager will start you at 40K per year and state that "getting free lunch counts for something." The food is awful, and no.. it is not a selling point.

Also, the manager does not offer to help clinicians, and is off site for majority of the week. There is zero training- they throw you in. The manager adds to your responsibilities without taking into account that you only have a certain amount of time to do assessments, biopsychosocials, groups, notes and sign off on online documentation, all while juggling referrals, calls, faxes and emails to a variety of rehab centers for a number of patients. The turnover rate is insane. The second day I was there, one of the clinicians quit.

PROS: There are sparse, notable staff that are kind, and do their jobs well. However, they are not management.

The site needs work but the work culture is good. The programs are improving but funding is low salaries. I like the clients and the site. The clinical director is a good person who is always trying to improve the program.

This company has terrible HR practices. God forbid you were to complaint about harassment. I feel sad for the clients and employees there that are stuck. Trust me, no one was happy at this company.

This is a great place to work and the management is wonderful. The overall feeling is like a family style and how supportive the staff is with each other as well as the clients. However, that being said it is a non-profit so you don't make a lot and the hours are bad for per diems. Some weeks its 40+ hours and other weeks its maybe 8 hours at most. That being said this is a great job if you are in school and training to work with these populations like me.
Pros
Family enviroment, great staffing, a sense of inclusion
Cons
Bad hours, no real breaks and little pay

The director & nursing supervisor were the worst people to ever work for. No concept on addiction nor did they have any compassion. They talk down to their employees. The best part of the job was interacting with the clients because you see all different walks of life. My heart goes out to the clients and hope they never have to go back to a place like that
Pros
Free lunch & client interaction
Cons
Poor management disorganized

It was fine, good job. management is bad though so there's that. Kind of a pain to get there because it's far, everything was nice. Things were things yes.

SCADD certainly cares about its people, those they serve and those that work for them. My former director is no longer there but she was an angel and my co-workers were all wonderful in all departments. It was a good job but its a hard population to work for.
Pros
Great staff, free lunch, easy-going
Cons
Not everyone is cut out for this job

High disorganized administrative and clinical staff. Staff is not trained well and resource are extremely limited. You as a counselor need to buy your own supplies and have little to no support from management and the clinical director. Client's are a secondary thought profit come first.

This agency is about helping employees to get back in the job market. I have had the opportunity to advance quickly. Starting at an entry level position to supervising several departments. The hours are flexible helping single parents to be able to juggle work and family. The agency is very pro active in making sure employees advance in schooling and trainings to better themselves. I work with a great mix of coworkers making it enjoyable to go to work every day.
Pros
Very fair employers
Cons
Not for profit so funding is never enough
