Southeastern Freight Lines P&D Driver Review

Good job

Above average pay, and benefits. Definitely one of the better LTL companies. Decent health insurance, 10% 401k match, and you get paid 9 hrs for your vacation days(that's kinda cool). You will work VERY hard, but you'll be able to take very good care of your family.

Pros

Amazing pay, chicken biscuits once a month

Cons

50 hrs per week on average. LTL can be very stressful.

Good morals. 10 hrs of work is enough. Leadership wants numbers because they want to move up. Wrong.

What is the best part of working at the company? They are working on leadership. Much better than 7 years ago. Leadership speaks of life work balance. After 17.5 years I never saw it. That's why I left. After 11 hrs a day should be enough. Be cautious if you have children that need you there for ball games or Ballet. What is the most stressful part about working at the company?Long hours without notice. Leadership is always training and not in tune with the driver. What is the work environment and culture like at the company?Good culture. Christian base with leadership being forced to comply. What is a typical day like for you at the company?8 am to 7:30 pm. Work hard all day then given more work at 6pm when it's time to go home and be with family

Excellent Company, Leadership, and Co-Workers

A typical day at work as a P&D Driver involves doing a pretrip of the truck and trailer, inspect and verify the contents of your trailer, and then hit the road. You spend most of the day making your deliveries, and along the way making pickups here and there.Management and the workplace culture is about as good as it gets. Everyone treats everyone with respect and offers help if needed. The hardest part of the job is this TX heat, along with traffic that sometimes doesn't want to wait while you back in places. The most enjoyable part of the job is a sense of accomplishment while completing your route, seeing the smiles on customers faces - especially residentials, and figuring out the challenges with some of the deliveries. All in all, Southeastern Freight Lines was the best LTL and freight company I've worked for.

Pros

Great Pay, Excellent Benefits, Friendly Management and Co-Workers.

Cons

It's hard work some days, but that is to be expected. No cons really.

Don’t waste your time here.

What is the best part of working at the company? It’s hard to say. This place is just very poorly managed What is the most stressful part about working at the company? So called management. They take dock woff reg jets and turn them into managers. Had 1 out of 6 managers good in 10 years. The rest have no clue, but think they do. Worste upper management I’ve ever seen. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? It’s really bad in Jackson tn What is a typical day like for you at the company?Look like trailers flipped over every day on inbound when you open the pups up. People just don’t care anymore. Owner says culture , but culture is a thing of the past. They don’t care about customers freight. We were begging for load straps and bars for over six months at one point. Upper management doesn’t not care about drivers. All of us in Jackson tn have seen what they do to good drivers.
