I have learned that micromanaging isn’t the answer to making your employees work, but a monthly bonus to the one who did the most call volume does. Making grown people ask to go to the restroom? These people are not children. They have children at home whom they are trying to support and be home for in the evening. If the call center is that busy, that they are having to stay so late and miss family time, hire some part time people who need jobs as well. Let them work 4 hours a day for 5 days. Or if those who don’t have families want to volunteer to work overtime allow them too. Don’t overwork your workhorses. They will not do a job well done because you have killed them. Management needs to meet with team leaders weekly to deal with numbers rising and falling and how to make quota. Then the team leaders need to have morning meeting with their team and let them know what the last quota was and what the next quota needs to be for that day. During the day walk through and see they are doing the work but don’t stand over each and everyone with the wip in your hand. As you walk through encourage, tell them good job, hand them a Hershey Kiss or something nice. Allow them a break to get up and grab something to drink and come back. Allowing them a breather from steadily talking on the phone is not hindering the calls, it’s allowing them to start back up again to make it through.

I have been a customer service representative. When you have been cussed, not able to leave your desk, have to raise your hand to go to the bathroom, can’t be relieved for a break, worked like a dog and unappreciated you will hate your job and get the rating this company is getting. I would come and help you straighten your company up but I believe you are too far gone. Good luck

I would offer employee incentives monthly for those that shows positive results, sick leave, vacation time, a vacation give away once a year for one employee that exemplifies excellent work ethics. I would asked the employees feedback on a monthly basis because they are the ones that are enteracting with the Providers and Volunteer drivers.
