Marketing (Former Employee) – Baton Rouge, LA – June 19, 2018
Looking back on my time here, I took for granted the technological advantages they provided. They understand the importance of keeping up with (and exceeding) industry standards and provide you with an abundance of premium tools to get the job done efficiently. I learned about the ins-and-outs of e-commerce and digital development, and now see how that propelled me into a successful career in management.
Having said that, the owners at Southern Marsh have very high standards for their employees intellectually, and you will learn that quickly if you have not developed a proactive mindset, or need a high level of guidance. These standards are healthy for some individuals, but many crumble under the pressure. An effort to provide more detailed policies and procedures would help calm nerves around the office.
The most enjoyable part of the job was being on the cutting edge of marketing and design (they have top-notch designers). The hardest part of the job is developing consistent communication with upper management.

Customer Service Representative (Current Employee) – Baton Rouge, LA – October 3, 2017
The customer service department offers the best opportunity for students looking for part-time, flexible work. Our main tasks involve helping customers complete orders and returns via phone and email. The best part about this company is the people who work here. The customer service team is laid-back and supportive, which is especially helpful in making the busy holiday seasons rewarding.
Employee (Former Employee) – Baton Rouge, LA – September 13, 2017
Thoroughly enjoyed my time at this company filled with cool people. Was challenged to think outside the box, empowered to make decisions and to grow. Management could be slightly more transparent with vision for the company but otherwise a good group. With a company growing steadily there are bound to be opportunities to do things better and there was, but overall I would totally work here again! Left for a better job!
Employee (Current Employee) – Baton Rouge, LA – September 6, 2017
I've been working of this company a number of years and I have enjoyed the majority of my time here. The company has always been a fun/laid back place to work. There have been some growing pains but the changes recently have made this company a great place to work! I highly recommend this company for any enthusiastic, motivated person ready to get their feet wet in a constantly expanding business.
Designer (Current Employee) – Baton Rouge, LA – August 29, 2017
Southern Marsh has a really relaxed atmosphere, but you're still expected to set and meet goals. The company hasn't been around very long, so there's some things that they're still trying to figure out, but I could see a lot of progress during the time I was there.
Really competitive pay and benefits, free snacks & drinks, family atmosphere
Employee (Current Employee) – Baton Rouge, LA – August 29, 2017
I have been with the organization for a year and couldn't be happier. I can say that management listens and cares. Employees are encouraged to have diverse thinking and to being thoughts and ideas to the table. Additionally, the benefits provided are exceptional for a company of this size! Should you want a young, fun, progressive, laid back place to work each day with an entrepreneurial spirit, then Southern Marsh is for you!!!

Regional Account Manager (Former Employee) – Baton Rouge, LA – June 3, 2016
Worst company ever! They 100% will lie about the pay and change things on you every few months. They treat their employees horrifically and have no idea how to run a business. They screw everyone who works from them and are too scared to even have a conversation with their employees about change. The business owners are slimy, greedy, sad individuals; while everyone else who works in sales is amazing, they leave as quickly as they realize the horror they got in to.
The sales team, other networks in the industry
No per diem for travel (they will say you do), being treated like dirt, lying, horrific office space, almost everything
Sales Representative (Current Employee) – Baton Rouge, LA – May 4, 2016
Really Bad company. It is run by two Frat brothers who try and control every aspect of the business. A lot of reps have left in the last 6 months, they lie before they hire you. The pay advertised is double the amount they actually pay. The "HR director"is actually one of the owners wife and does not know anything about HR. Very unprofessional company.
Free water/cokes in office, health and dental insurance offered.
no security, bad pay, expenses are on you, change the pay every 6 months with no warning, its very hard to get your milage back even though its approved.
