I have worked here for 12 years. There have been changes over the years and I can truly say it's an AMAZING place to work. All of the intentional work our leaders have done to improve the agency deserves to be recognized. I have been given the opportunity to grow professionally and couldn't imagine working anywhere else! I am allowed to think big and share my ideas. Our leaders value the opinions of everyone and want their feedback. My team is so collaborative and supportive. The benefits are like no other program in the state. SOHS is one of a kind and its an honor to work here!!

Since I have started my job at SOHS I have truly LOVED what I do! I am allowed the flexibility to organize my schedule with what suits me best. My supervisor has been extremely supportive. My department team members were welcoming and encouraging from the very beginning.

Top management is a joke. They have no clue what actually happens and say they will look into it and you never hear back from them. Communication is severely lacking from the top management down to the line staff and middle management
Teacher in Grants Pass, OR
on November 7, 2021
I have worked as a Teacher for Head Start for 4 years. I have given it my all. The work load is unrealistic, upper managment and the educational department does not support its employees correctly. The agency is not up to date with helping children with emotional and phsychological needs. A plan is not in place for employees to follow when dealing with violent children. Teachers and Aids are often hit, spit, punched, kicks and bit. They cannot do anything, but block these behaviors with there bodies.
