A nice place to work overall. I worked there for 5 years but couldn’t take the politics, deceitfulness and back stabbing any longer. I found a full position at another local CC. But some CAVEATS ARE IN PLACE. HR is unfair. Word and reliable sources have it that applicant pools for tenure positions are stacked in favor internally connected “cronies” and sicophants and not outside talent no matter what your resume looks like. There are a lot of politics on the Chula Vista campus between old guard and new regime. Be careful. Some departments like communication, psychology, criminal justice, arts, and child development have huge problems with staff feuding, infighting and especially departmental leadership at the chair level. People are very guarded, kinda paranoid, entrenched and closed minded. Avoid these departments or programs at all costs if you are interested in teaching there.

I love it. I can trust that ethical practices are implemented on a daily basis. The whole team makes up what the organization represents. The online environment allows for us to work together from all over the world.
