A porter transports patients to and from procedures, like to x-ray or physical therapy. Most of the patients are on stretchers or in wheelchairs. They must know their way around the hospital very well and be personable and friendly. They sometimes assist the patients in and out of the wheelchairs, but the clinical staff, like the nurses and aides and primarily responsible for that.
