Apply if you don't care about work/life balance
Surgical Neurophysiologist (Current Employee) –  United StatesSeptember 10, 2018
Management only cares about themselves and making sure the bottom line is met while destroying employee morale. Forced travel. Some markets work 2 days a week while others work 5+ days and pay is the same no matter where you are or how much you work. Favoritism is rampant, and rules are not enforced fairly. Pay does not match cost of living. On call compensation is insulting. Team turnover is very high, as you'd expect from terrible management.
Pros
Paychecks never bounce
Cons
Poor Management, Poor Pay, Poor Benefits, lack of work/life balance

a typical day at Palmetto with SpecialtyCare
Perfusionist (Former Employee) –  Hialeah, FLApril 5, 2018
Specialty Care was a decent company to work for and none of our perfusionists had any intentions of leaving. We were forced to leave due to a contract negotiation going South. Good, though spirited surgeon there. Loved to work very late into the night though so for a new mom, that wasn't Ideal. Great team members whom I still keep in contact with like family.
Pros
team
Cons
working hours-very late

Bottom line business, money first, patient last
CVT (Current Employee) –  FloridaApril 4, 2018
SpecialtyCare takes over accounts and cuts wages. No overtime pay, no call pay, routine 60-80 hour weeks. Salaries are not competitive and the company lives up to their poor reputation.

Ok place to work
Supply Chain Analyst (Current Employee) –  Brentwood, TNApril 3, 2018
Pay and benefits ok. Management a little disconnected, but are making an effort to do better.
Company is top heavy (as far as management goes). Lower level workers are overworked and pay increases are slight.
Pros
Pay and benefits ok.
Cons
Pay increases do not match cost of living. Top Management heavy.

Not acceptable
Supervisor Central Sterile Dept. (Former Employee) –  Brooklyn, NYFebruary 25, 2018
Very bad structure management not concerned with staff issues or patient safety only keeping the account open in new york. This company needs a full overhall.

Came in from Sentient acquisition = Way Better
Surgical Technologist (Current Employee) –  FloridaFebruary 1, 2018
I was at Sentient - a good company I had no intention of leaving - when SpecialtyCare acquired them in 2016. There is a HUGE difference at the level this company runs compared to the 3 other companies. This field is crazy and we always had to worry if our company was going to make it or be forced to take some drastic measures. I'm way less stressed out working for a company that keeps growing and has a very healthy balance sheet (yes, the CEO shows you the numbers).

My pay went up as I got a raise for the first time in a long time, got a 401K match, better insurance plan, money for conferences, and they are paying for my masters.

It's crazy for me to read some of these negative reviews. Please do your research and speak to people who are actually working for the company.
Pros
Job growth, compensation, great people, job security.

Very Long working days and hours. Company is more concerned with billing for your time then paying you for extra work. Very little personal time with this company

Great mission, great coworkers, management needs work
Manager (Former Employee) –  Nashville, TNJanuary 7, 2018
This was a great company to work for and they provided services you could feel good about. There wasn't much emphasis on development and growth of employees and biases are extremely apparent. The environment is very professional but can be perceived as a little unrelaxed depending on the department. It was a great stepping stone but not a place for a progressive career for, which is unfortunate.
Pros
Excellent onboarding and mission
Cons
Management is not people-focused

Find another company
Surgical Neurophysiologist (Former Employee) –  Philadelphia, PASeptember 29, 2017
Very poor experience working for this company. Plagued with middle management issues. Favoritism seems to be ingrained in the culture. Very difficult to have a life outside of work. Low Pay. Pay and incentives are not competitive. Specialty care acquires new business but doesn't have enough employees to cover cases. Lots of call and you don't always get paid for it. Training is decent, but salary for new hires is extremely low. The most enjoyable part of the job was when I put in my notice.
Pros
I can't think of any at the moment.
Cons
long work days, lots of call, forced last minute travel when NOT on call.

Face paced, ever changing work environment
Senior Credentialing Analyst (Former Employee) –  Brentwood, TNSeptember 26, 2017
This is a face paced environment with ever changing rules and regulations. You must be well organized and able to move from one tasks without completing the last. This position does require you to work with multiple people and departments and you may not be able to complete all tasks without working with other individuals to complete their portion first. You are always working with new people.

Awesome place to work
Collection Specialist (Current Employee) –  Hunt Valley, MDMay 4, 2017
Specialty Care is an awesome company to work for, management and employees have an amazing connection to get the job done. We work hard but play hard. Hint Hint: If you are a strong Medical Billing Collector then this is the company for you. Weak Medical Billing Collectors will NEVER make it at this company, as it is a lot claims to be worked, appeals to be filed and phone calls to the insurance company. Only a weak Collector complains; however a STRONG Collector knows the job and bring money in the door.
Pros
Management acknowledges hard work and supplies lunch as recognition.
Cons
Benefits could be better

Management and coworkers weren't professional
Claims Processor (Current Employee) –  Hunt Valley, MDApril 18, 2017
The management at Specialty care formerly known as Sentient weren't professional at all. Down to the timely filling of claims being processed, appeals that were denied being over looked and sent back out. No respect for co workers.
