Don't work here. They treat employees like dirt. Humiliated and embarrassed me in front of customers and employees making me do bag check and coat check at checkout. Very humiliating. Not told this was policy. Unprofessional.
It is a fun atmosphere. I worked with some really terrific people in 2016, and am looking forward to working again this season (2018). It can get crazy busy but everyone helps each other out and it is an awesome experience to set up the store, work the season and then take the store apart and pack it back up. My favorite is the set up and working the dressing rooms, it is fast paced and I love seeing the costumes guests pick out and helping them put together the "look" from head to toe. It is a blast.
Associates must always be neat, clean and well groomed with appropriately fitted clothing. All clothing must be neat, clean and contain no profanity, or sexually explicit/suggestive wording. The Associate must be able to work comfortably in the clothing.
You just need to wear the apron and badge.
What tips or advice would you give to someone interviewing at Spirit Halloween Super Store?
Be prepared to do heavy lifting for set up! Be able to climb a ladder, and also lift up to 50 pounds! Be a team player, ready to work, and have a positive attitude and good personality.
They just gave me 5:30-8:30 (I was just hired yesterday), idk if they’ll give you more that 5 hours, it’s a seasonal job too :) but it’s also bi-weekly
What questions did they ask during your interview at Spirit Halloween Super Store?
Why did you apply for the position with Spirit Halloween? What do you think will be your greatest challenge if you get the position?
Most people either had another job they worked along with the seasonal position at Spirit, or they had another seasonal position lined up for winter. And then some people started looking for another position elsewhere towards the mid part of October. The great thing is the experience you gain. You could go into sales, cashiering, merchandising, a stocker, key holder or even loss prevention position.
