Spx is good to start
CNC Machinist (Former Employee) –  Rochester, NYAugust 3, 2018
To start in spx is a plus, they start you at good pay and pretty good benefits. The shop is very fast paced as they are the global leaders in mixing technology. The management is horrible though, no advancement, tiny raises, and it’s too corporate to make any small time decisions
Pros
Good pay
Cons
Horrible management

QA Technician (Current Employee) –  Goldsboro, NCAugust 1, 2018
Management is really trying to focus on supervisor employee relationship. They have really taken employee concerns and are working to bridge the gap in making them feel important.
Pros
They promote growth within the company.
Cons
All supervisors are not fair.

To much management that's never held accountable. Hourly workers are good to each other. Lay back atmosphere 80% of the time.
Machinist/ millwright (Former Employee) –  Baton Rouge, LAApril 11, 2018
Work on any and every type of pump made. Give you the time to learn the ropes of their process. Have 5 people in management and planning and only 5 millwrights and machinists together. They provide all precision tools but you supply the rest. Management doesn't like you to try new ideas and methods except the lead man. Shop foreman is dumb and not held accountable and neither are planners or Superintendent. Everything is recorded and documented on paper and no computer for floor hands to check time or Benifits!!!!!!! Good place to hone your skills but no room for advancement!!
Pros
Laid back atmosphere and lax on getting to work late and plenty of pto.
Cons
Only one break and 30 minutes for lunch, while always working 10 hour days, Pay is on the low end considering, Baton Rouge is 2nd in the nation, in amount of chemical plants and refineries!!!

PROJECT MANAGER/CONTRACTS SPECIALIST (Former Employee) –  Delavan, WIMarch 27, 2018
Overall, a good place to work. Like anyplace there were frustrations over things that did not make sense and those that thought it best to further themselves by stepping on others. But for the most part the workforce was competent and collaborative, focused on achieving the goal. Like most other American corporations under-staffing is the norm with everyone having to do three or four jobs.
Pros
Great tools to work with (office and shop)
Cons
The occasional politically-motivated jerk.

Great place to work - but lack of advancement
SENIOR FINANCIAL ANALYST (Current Employee) –  Charlotte, NCFebruary 10, 2018
Management and team-members are very friendly and the culture was great. They took great care of the analysts in the rotational program, but after the 2 years of 6-month rotations, there was a lack of opportunity for finance and accounting. The managers are very young and there was a hard time finding roles that would lead to upward mobility in the company. The exposure to different departments and senior leadership was incredible. However, the options to move to other roles and other cities are very limited. The locations that FLOW has to offer are not very glamorous, given that it is a manufacturing company.

Rubber Mold op. (Current Employee) –  Delavan, WIJanuary 13, 2018
Some employees are quick to throw you under the bus. Insurance... ask for a jar of Vaseline as you enroll so it wont hurt as bad when you pay for it. Little by little they are taking away benefits and lower pay to the new hires. Kind of like what a Harley-Davidson did to their employees.

Light Assembly (Former Employee) –  New Port, MDSeptember 8, 2017
A typical day at work was pretty standard from day to day. I learned how to work closely with other people and manage my time. The management staff was very understanding and tried their best to give their employees the tools they needed to complete the job in an enjoyable manner. Everyone their treats each other like family. The hardest part of the job was training but the trainers took enough time with you to learn, then it was smooth sailing. The most enjoyable part of the job was the recognition that everyone received for doing their jobs.
Pros
Vacation/sick days and benefits

I enjoyed every single day of work, we had such great team to work with. Unfortunately overall business wasn't doing too good and they had to reduce the amount of employees and I was one of them. Great place to work with.

CNC Machinist (Current Employee) –  WisconsinMay 25, 2017
I started at the bottom of the ladder and worked my way to the top. Plenty of overtime is available to all those who desire to work it. This company is in the food and beverage business; always busy.

Operations (Former Employee) –  Houston, TXApril 12, 2017
SPX FLOW was originally SPX, but the two became separate companies in 2015. SPX FLOW is now owned by an investment group. Focus is on constant cost-cuttings and not on process improvement, education, customer retention and employee relations. Management is inexperienced and inconsistent, which makes contribution of their employees null and mute.

Enjoyed working with colleagues at the plant level, however corporate management is in constant flux.
Business Transformation Manager (Former Employee) –  Delavan, WIJanuary 4, 2017
In my position I was in a unique position to work with plant employees as well as corporate. At the plant level performance was above par as they constantly strived to hit moving targets/goals. Management was more concerned about wall street and "following in the footsteps of its peer group" than creating a company focused on growth. Subsequently my tenure there was a roller coaster of managers, 5 year plans and subsequent layoffs.
Pros
Co-workers
Cons
