Software Engineer Intern in Remote
on August 31, 2021
I've talked to quite a few Software Engineers at Squarespace as an intern, and I have to say this company is one of the very few that does everything right. Full time employees experience great compensation, benefits, AND work/life balance. Can't really find that combination many other places. They invest in their employees because they're in it for the long haul. Quite a few left the company and eventually came back because it's just that good.Even the interns are paid competitive wages. Being hourly workers: interns don't get full-time employee benefits of course. But they get quite a lot of extra stuff! Wouldn't want to spoil the surprise though. I can say it's definitely one of the best internship experiences.

People are kind, smart, and capable. Products are well designed and built. Comp low especially equity. The vesting schedule is really bad and equity is also only given to senior level or higher.

Good. We just ship our products to the post office and then we take orders from people in the site and post packages from the stock room to the post office.

Time management, dealing with diverse Clientele. Team work, flexibility, great work ethic. It was a great environment, my team were great to work with and we had fun.
Customer Support Advisor in Portland, OR

I loved the people I worked with. Squarespace is the most open, accepting, supportive place to work. We had great team leads, and great camaraderie with work events and team outings. The hardest part was the monotony of taking live chats with customers all day, who all have a very different range of experience and competency with the product.
