Open work schedule, terrible pay.
Janitor (Former Employee) - Columbia, SC - March 20, 2022
Barely have enough employees to handle the work load. My pay has stayed the same since my first time working with this company. Hard to make sure your work is throughly done, there is always someone in the building.
Cons
Pay, work load

Employees
Electrician (Former Employee) - Texas - October 3, 2021
The management doesn't care about all employees, just the ones that are in their circle. The workers that do the work get punished for working , while the ones that doesn't work or do anything, they do nothing to. The non workers get raises more , again while the ones doing the work ask and they say they can't do anything.

Too sure you get your offer in writing
Security Officer (Former Employee) - Connecticut - May 30, 2020
I was not told by management that my hours would be cut when certain holidays came and vacations came to the facility that I was watching. I was not made aware of any other locations that I could make up the hours. And found myself in the position making less than 275 week

Short staffed. One person is so slow and works 14 hours per day.
Custodial Worker (Current Employee) - Canton, TX - November 29, 2019
I've been at my job 10 years. Hardly given raises. Haven't seen manager in months. Only way to get in touch with her is through text. Sometimes she'll text you back in hours or days. Very unprofessional. Short on supplies needed. When out of floor soap told to use water. Out of toilet paper have to pull one roll out of each stall.

Hard, heavy, laborious work
Custodian (Former Employee) - Crawfordsville, IN - May 21, 2015
SSC Custodial work was hard, heavy work and very laborious in the Summer working without air conditioning. They do not pay hourly employees holiday pay. I would not work for them again.

No place I want to work
Unite Director of the Physical Plant (Current Employee) - Canyon, TX - December 19, 2014
No place I want to work. Managers don't tell you the truth. They are very slow to respond to your questions. Continually violate their contract by taking the benefits we were promised.

Fast paced, general labor
Floor Cleaner (Former Employee) - Shelby Township, MI - March 8, 2014
I worked overnights, cleaning floors in large retail stores. It was a difficult job, especially in the winter months, but I was able to do a great job, always getting compliments on my work from store management. The hardest part of the job was stripping the floors. Scraping old wax off the floors was a long process and we didn't stop working until the job was done. The most enjoyable part of the job was being able to meet so many different people, store associates, store managers and even customers and hearing their compliments on our work. I also enjoyed that it was a full time job, that I did 6 nights every week, and I made a great salary.

Fun and enjoyable at first until realizing 7.50 hr is all anyone will ever make.
Custodian/Janitor (Current Employee) - Cookeville, TN - December 8, 2013
Typical day includes mopping, emptying trash, cleaning bathrooms. Co-workers come and go quite regularly but some remain long enough to maintain cordial relationships with. The hardest part of the job is knowing a raise is never in the making. The most enjoyable part of the day is clocking out.

great chance to meet new people
Building Attendant 1 (Current Employee) - Commerce, TX - September 13, 2013
We all meet in the office, clock in, get our keys and get our daily assignment. I honestly cannot give a proper review as we only merged with them in April. However the benefits that were lost in the transfer were the biggest reason I went to work there almost five years ago. My co-workers are the best!!! However my particular 'manager' doesn't have the best reputation, and is not very nice. The hardest part of my job is pretending I like it.
Pros
Very reliable income, two fifteen min breaks and an hour lunch.
Cons
insurance changed, and not allowed to listen to music, or sing or hum.

Worst job I ever had
Inventory Control / Shipping Manager (Former Employee) - Urbandale,IA - June 20, 2012
Work as hard as you can with few resources, Encouragement from ownership is in the form of thinly veiled threats that he would replace you with someone more competent. No training from within the company and no budget to help become a better employee though training anywhere else.Employees stripped of health benefits by an incompetent HR Dept. (the owners wife) 1.5% raise in 7 years though your work results in 10s of thousands more GP that the previous person in that position. Only to be stiffed for three weeks pay and three weeks vacation, when they went under. The only good thing was the other good people who worked there and did their best to make it all work.

Pros

Cons
low pay rate, no room for advancement
