When you've had a travel nurse work a total of 20 months over their 4 years of traveling (never called off work once), and the nurse manager says they still need you, you shouldn't leave your traveler jobless 4 days before their next scheduled shift because you decide you're not taking any more travel contracts. I didn't job search because my manager said they needed me. I left myself available to work not only regular scheduled days, but also picked up days to help out when Saint Joseph was short staffed, only to be left jobless. That's like firing a good employee! I'm very bitter about that. I'm also upset about the fact that I went to the doctor for a physical, lab work, and procedure the week I was off and was just supposed to be in between contracts. But, being you decided not to extend my contract (after I was told I was still needed), I was left without medical insurance, and what would have been free preventative visits ended up costing me thousands. Not to mention being left without a paycheck for 3 weeks until I got another job. I lost thousands there also. And you wouldn't even give the two week extension my travel company asked for, and that I was already scheduled for, so I could at least have a paycheck for two weeks until I got a job, and so I wouldn't have to make a 5 hour drive (one way) to come and get all my things (stethoscope, pulse ox, etc...) out of my work locker without receiving a paycheck. VERY inconsiderate! I didn't deserve that! I am a good nurse and a good employee. I work hard and take my job very seriously. It's going to take me a LONG time to catch up on everything, and also to get over this. I gave my ALL at Saint Joseph the 20 months I worked there, and you couldn't give me two weeks. VERY inconsiderate and almost inhumane treatment for everything I gave to Saint Joseph! I can't even explain.
