Machinist Technician (Former Employee) –  San Antonio, TXApril 23, 2018
Good opportunity to cross train as desired. Competitive benefits and salary. Quality was priority over production. Flexible schedule and ability to work overtime as needed.

Just an okay place, not great or even good.
Office Position (Former Employee) –  Maryville, TNMarch 30, 2018
No room for advancement and pay raises are not good. Managers do not care about their people. Health insurance is extremely high. The good thing are the co-workers.
Pros
Co-workers are great and they do quarterly luncheons which are nice.
Cons
Heath Insurance extremely expensive, no opportunity to advance, managers only care about numbers and not the people.

Inspector (Former Employee) –  Cincinnati, OHMarch 7, 2018
Overall the people are skilled and helpful. Unfortunately the management only cares about their bonuses, any FAA regulations and SOP fall way side. If you are a quality perspective then you should think twice.

The workplace culture is quite challenging and management was a typical environment and no growth opportunities although aviation was my jobs preferences.

A&P Mechanic (Current Employee) –  Springfield, ILJanuary 27, 2018
make sure you're happy with the amount they hire you in at, pain in the but to get a raise more than the standard inflation 3%.
might as well be union. basically impossible to get fired. hard to get promoted. they keep all the idiots. but if you're getting a good hourly rate, its one of the easiest places to work. can't complain too much
Pros
easy
Cons
mind numbing boring work

Manager (Current Employee) –  Dallas, TXJanuary 8, 2018
StandardAero has a small company feel - very autonomous segmented business - limited collaboration or opportunities to advance - PE owned with short term goals - limits the appetite or willingness to invest in long-term projects

Analyst (Former Employee) –  Springfield, MONovember 9, 2017
Disappointed with a few incidents that happened during my tenor at Standard Aero. To my knowledge the incidents were escalated, but I learned later that they were not. Some thing were swept under the rug.

Engineering Intern (Former Employee) –  San Antonio, TXOctober 22, 2017
Would highly recommend for any Intern-seeking students! Fun work place, great people and endless learning opportunities! Staff treated me as just another engineer, no different between the intern and other engineers in terms of team inclusion.

Aircraft composite technician (Current Employee) –  Sharonville, OHOctober 5, 2017
It's a busy place to work. It's repetitive work. Easy work work for me. But gets old. Once youre in a position you are pretty much stuck there. Not a bad place to work though.

Handled a lot of jobs within the company. Managed two sites from a procurement standpoint as well as managed the corporate office building issues an all. I also worked on service agreements handling the phones, printers, and staples accounts world wide.
Pros
Loved the people I got to meet.
Cons
Handled to many jobs.

I felt the job had a high stress level and it required a lot of time. However, it was a pretty good place to work. The benefits were strong, and not expensive.

A&P Mechanic II (Current Employee) –  IllinoisJuly 30, 2017
Work long hours for low pay for mechanics. No chance of moving up unless you are in the "click "group. Management is so disconnect from the shop crews.
Pros

Airframe Inspector (Former Employee) –  Houston, TXMay 29, 2017
Fast paced, but work load comes and goes. Good people to work with, but ot enough training or tooling. Biggest draw back is use of ancient DOS program to document maintenance/inspections performed and track manhours worked.

Metallurgical lab Technician (Current Employee) –  Cincinnati, OHMarch 29, 2017
When I started here back in 2008 this was the best job I have ever landed. The management team was friendly and actually cared about your well being plus your family's well being. Granted we were a little smaller then compared to now. But now the Leads/Managers and higher ups only care about numbers and spread sheets. The quality of our work has greatly decreased and our scrapped parts have gone up. Before we would train a new employee at least 6 months before letting them on their own comfortably. Now people are being trained in a week and let loose. There are to many managers and to many management changed with cells/departments, you're lucky if you keep the same manager for a year.

Nice place to get started
Repair Technician (Current Employee) –  Cincinnati, OHMarch 6, 2017
This could be an amazing company . It's a good one for the most part unfortunately they don't seem to want it to get any better. The wage is pretty bad, you definitely have to haggle during your interview or you will be sorry. The health insurance is mind numbingly expensive. And the worst thin. By far is the training.... that's because there isn't any. Other than that they do offer tuition assistance, they match 5% in 401k which is nice and the amount personal days you get are fantastic.
Pros
Nice culture, benifits beside healthcare are nice
Cons
No training . Low salary, high insurance

Poor crew attitude.
Crew Lead (Current Employee) –  Springfield, ILNovember 18, 2016
Long term co workers have poor attitude, and poor work ethic. Bunch of bad attitude workers who think they know way more than they really do. Quality of workers stink...
Cons
crew attitude poor
