As governor/ceo you are aware of the 2 major complaints of your employees, that is the low pay rate and benefits as it related to working conditions and time off. Can you see yourself living on $625.15 bi weekly? There is a lot to address with the correctional system, and Child Protective Services. Creating jobs, provide job training opportunities for young men and women which would cut down on the criminal activities, especially with drug selling and addiction problems. Raise the minimum wage, and provide Florida residents with full comprehensive health care. If the mayor of a large city can do this, you can get this done as well.

Supposed to be 40 ha ha ha!!! But employees at DOEA CARES work more than 40 and do not get paid for it or get the hours back in time off.

Pay is horrible benefits are good no room for advancement unless u kiss @@ Yes the company will pay for school but it’s up to the department head if they allow u to go or stay in ur same position with low pay because they have picks who they allow to attend school or not .

Embarrassed. I worked there seven years without censure or complaints from management. I was fired because of my Asthma, yet I am still elegible for rehire. How do I reccomend people to work at a contradictory place like that?

I've worked for the state in a couple of departments, and the only time I've seen a drug test was for a Worker's Comp injury. The Park Service would be completely gutted if they did pre-employment drug testing.

They WILL do a background check, with fingerprints and all of that.

I submitted my application on 9/24.....got the supplemental app the very next day, filled that out and returned it via email same day.....the following week on 10/1 I had my interview.....3 weeks later I took the CJBAT ......a week later I got my CERTIFICATE of PASS via email.....1 week later I went for my Fingerprints , Drug Screen which is urine and blood. Also a EKG, Teburculosis Test, blood pressure, O2, Vision, hearing and Agility. 2 1/2 weeks later I got my call that I was approved for employment. My first day of orientation is next Friday.

The interview process is great. Fast and easy. Usually you're interviewed by a Judge.

Can be hostile at times and very uncomfortable. Supervisor does not speak when she comes in in the morning so she can catch you at something. She has 2 secretaries to spy for her and run the office. If you want to know something ask the staff assistant. Some days she will talk to you and others not.

Depends on the program, in certain counties it's relatively quick in others counties it takes months as they keep "reposting" positions if they dont like the applicants
