The benefits were adequate - health saving plans, dental, vision and life ins. were reasonable. If you needed the actual health insurance, it was still expensive.

Contrary to popular belief, State benefits are VERY expensive. The cost is always increasing and unless you need your high deductible, you pay most of your medical bills on your own. Private sector has far better insurance then the State.
