Occupant (Current Employee) – Illinois – July 8, 2013
As a current employee at Steiner, I have seen many different experience with the company. Every few years, the company changed the program when it comes to pulling orders. The warehouse manager always been busy. My co-workers who I works with seems to be fast paced peoples and have enjoyed their jobs. the difficult part is when you find it impossible with the difficult task of jobs. The most fun part of the job is when your job end at the end of the day.
Several nice employees, but management does not provide support.
Lighting (Former Employee) – Elk Grove, IL – April 12, 2018
In the big picture it seems like they have it all together. But after you get to know how management works, it can be very "clicky" feeling like back in High school again and only certain popular people were rewarded. Management is not truthful to employees.
Holiday lunches, friendly employees
Needs remodel, bad air quality, management needs more people skills.
The Hobart branch feels like more like a second family than a workplace
Inside Sales Person (Former Employee) – Hobart, IN – January 18, 2018
The job started off great, but then we lost two outside sales people and the will call/warehouse person. One person can't cover being an inside sales rep and the will call person and the warehouse person while also doing certain things the outside sales person is supposed to do for our customers.
The local management team at Hobart is great.
They can take forever to replace an employee and offer no compensation for doing multiple job roles.
