Daily and event goal amounts to meet - increase as with how many years with the company. Everyone helps to make the sale and are very knowledgeable in jewelry because everyone's sales for the month help to increase commission. Great teamwork. The commission is from 1-3% of your monthly sales amount and is based on how much the store sales. Pressure to meet event goals. Great discount on jewelry. Not too many other benefits. Working nights and weekends - mall hours.
Learn a lot about jewelry, Commission - ability to make more, Great discount
Goals go up higher based on years, Pressure to meet these goals every month or event, Working nights and weekends
Jared's COS was a "cold" and "negative" environment! NOTHING joyful or happy--just people showing up for work.

The above review was for Jared's, The Galleria of Jewelry which is a DIVISION of Sterling.
"ATTITUDE" seems to prevail in that Division. Cooperation is rare. Follow-through by upper management is non-existent. There are "pets", just like high school.
The store runs on inertia because of all the "experienced" jewelry people. A new crew couldn't make it there. ... (I have had MORE "BAD" experiences with Jared's than good)!
THIS particular store was 80% repairs (one salesman told us), so the most difficult part of the job was finding someone remotely interested to purchase, and working within the 7-10 people on the floor at any given time.
I'm one of those that believes in the "up" system--that didn't happen in this store. .... IT IS ALL ABOUT MANAGEMENT! POOR MANAGEMENT, POOR MORALE!
