Nearly a decade ago, we set out to build an entirely different kind of health care company from the ground up—one that unlocks access to affordable, high-quality and economically sustainable care and wellness in ways never before imagined. Today, we are the largest private, physician-led health care network—caring for millions of people across the U.S. and beyond. Our transformative, fully integrated model represents a new beginning for America’s health care system and others around the world.

Steward Health Care is the largest private, tax-paying physician-led health care network in the United States. Headquartered in Dallas, Texas, Steward operates 39 hospitals in the United States and the country of Malta that regularly receive top awards for quality and safety. The company employs approximately 42,000 health care professionals. The Steward network includes multiple urgent care centers and skilled nursing facilities, substantial behavioral health services, over 7,900 beds under management, and approximately 2.2 million full risk covered lives through the company's managed care and health insurance services.

The Steward Health Care Network includes 5,000 physicians across 800 communities who help to provide more than 12 million patient encounters per year. Steward Medical Group, the company's employed physician group, provides more than six million patient encounters per year. The Steward Hospital Group operates hospitals in Malta and nine states across the U.S., including Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Utah.

Avoid working here. Avoid Steward in general. For profit hospital system and it shows. All they care about is money not patients. Management is unhelpful and there is too many of them getting paid big bucks so they can’t pay anyone else a livable wage.

Not enough staff, Building needs updating, equipment needs replacement. Culture is good, people are nice, and work as a team. Scheduling and call can be very burdensome.

It’s not the best and it’s not the worst. There’s definitely things to improve upon but that’s how it is everywhere. Lots of opportunities for overtime.
