Steve Jobs used to say, 'It doesn't make sense to hire smart people and then tell them what to do; we hire smart people so they can tell us what to do'. During the 3 years I worked for Stihl, EVERY smart person I had the pleasure of working with was fired or left early on their own accord and the ones that stayed just kept their heads down for 8 hours and kept to themselves; day after boring day....

Managers need to appreciate the hard work of there employees. Stihl has become so lean focused that it causes panic and expensive transportation costs when shipping is slightly delayed. You need more communication between the floor and upstairs so that operations run smoother. Need to be more team orientated between the departments.

Spend more time on the floor with employees that have dedicated over 15 years of service to the company. Keep the plant at a certain temperature year round so there is no need for fans to be brought in by employees. Offer more jobs to the public instead of someone having to go through a employment agency.
