Work culture is toxic. very toxic. please dont apply. If you want full time badly enough you will tell them you will work nights and close your dept. trust me you will get it asap. cuz full timers dont like to close or clean . the people with senority. will take advantage and walk all over you. the more senority the less they do cuz they will "delegate " everything to low senority Don't show up on time, don't kill yourself, always call out and take extra long breaks. those people move up and get employee of the month. you work hard and be reliable they will take advantage of you. higher senority with a track record( writes up, suspensions) will get a promotion over the ones that have a clean record. and decent customer service doesnt mean much..

Stop and shop cuts hours too much. And then wonders why all their good workers leave. The pay is the bottom of the barrel so whenever a good worker gets a chance to leave for something better they do.

Alot of people complain that it's really clique and i cant say I disagree. I think the union is falling apart part times lose their benefits meanwhile Stop and shops parent company has no problem acquiring other companies and as a whole is the 2nd biggest food company in the world. I really didn't like that I had to work weekends and holidays meanwhile I'm making only 7 bucks an hour.

I missed out on alot because I worked for this company.
