I would listen more to my workers and try to make it a better place to work in.
I’d actually ask new employees what days and hours they were available to work instead of just throwing them on there any days and hours that I felt like it.
Stop and Shop should treat people equally when it comes to location. People who have worked very hard by always doing what’s best for the store and who have been especially reliable throughout Covid-19...should not be assigned extra distances comparably. I expect no compensation for the work I’ve done, but being thrown further away from parenting time has certainly created hardships when adding 2.5 hr to a workday with traveling.
Fire everyone at the front end and start over in this particular store.
I started working for stop & shop in the 1st week of March, Just before Corvid was detected, Soon as it hit the news stores still ran as nothing happened we had to bring own masked and plastic shields weren't put up yet!! I worked my hours without complaints.. Was treated special during the virus cause I gave 100% never was told take a day off and go get checked etc.. know that things are back to almost normal, almost normal!! I'm back to being treated like a slave dog. Its a sin that people can treat each other like this at a time like this??
Give essential employees a bonus for their hard work
Make sure that workers are paid a decent wage. Hire management staff that knows how to speak to the employees to motivate them.
Reevaluate management and get the horrible ones out and replace them with more great ones! I firmly believe a few of mine were completely in the wrong and was considering contacting corporate about the situation but since they did the wise thing in not taking any action to their assumptions I just let it all go...however, I am considering requesting to be transferred another store for several reasons including but not limited avoiding the assumption taking of what's not so by the some judging current management at the store at now, to be back at the store of which the hiring manager of which hired me is at, to avoid having a job I cannot stand going to! So yeah get better management!
Give part timers more hours and take the pressure off management.
I would give a fifteen minute break in between
