There were yearly performance reviews as well as pay raises. Some managers are able to give a larger percentage raise than others.

Performance evaluations were conducted annually and raises were awarded based on the evaluations in previous years. I have no idea if this practice has continued since the company began having financial problems due to low and declining enrollments.
