Brake Press Operator in Norton Shores, MI
on April 21, 2022
Focus is clear: do work at good pace, ensure quality. You are a machine operator. Not a machinist.Training is minimum. Either you are able to pick things up quickly or you will have to learn on your own while asking co workers for help.Workplace culture is... expectations are high... Which would be fine if everything worked as it should (bad job routing software, bad brake programs, insufficient efficiency time, "where did this thing go", etc.). If they are busy (many orders), you will work. If you call in, they will take your vacation. We are one of the most important departments, yet our personal time is often treated as a necessary sacrifice to satiate the over-ambitious management's lofty goals of impressing investors.Hardest part of the job is when there are large quantities of large parts. Strains and carpal tunnel are possible if you don't properly stretch or take breaks. The most enjoyable part, for me, is writing a good program and producing good parts. Very satisfying, especially on smaller or more complex parts.

Scc has been through a lot and it seems the company is headed in the direction of, "work yourself dead so we have money". There are some wonderful people but they aren't in positions to make changes. Recent management losses and hires are detrimental to the company as some of these new managers have hairpin triggers and are quick to anger. It's a very dreary atmosphere and so many people have been let go morale is awful. Communication does not happen effectively. The freedom to work from home is being taken away regardless of being sick or having sick children at home.
Manufacturing Support in Muskegon, MI
on March 3, 2022
Poor management. Four managers in five years. No one can be trusted. High turnover. Low morale. There are some good workers/people here. Human Resources does not support the workers and side with management. This company should be unionized. Safety has improved recently. Older, experienced workers are ignored and eventually eliminated. There is a pecking order within departments. Some rules don't apply to some people. Salary workers are consistently late with no consequences. Expectations are not communicated. No career paths.

Through the years of selling off company and making transition from family owned to investment firm owned the company faced many challenges. Finally seeing green on the other side and things seem to be improving all around the company
Floor Worker in Muskegon, MI
on December 24, 2021
Clean place to work, lots of potential to move up with in the company. I have worked in multiple departments over the past 8 years and have enjoyed it. With any company in this day and age improvements/changes are made and it takes time to adjust. Overall pleased with employment and management.
