On Martin Luther King Jr. Day, our STRUCTURAL/ STRUCTURAL TECHNOLOGIES- VSL Florida BUILD team hosted their volunteer event at SOS Children's Villages - Florida, who provides housing to over 75 foster care children. Our team brought the children inspiration about equality and motivation to accomplish their dreams and...SOME FUN! Starting off the day with a Stretch and Flex before playing kickball to making arts and crafts. To top off the joyful day, they even surprised the kids with a balloon artist to make balloon animals for each kid! Now that's what we call the #StructuralGroupWay! Thanks again for your effort and support! #GiveBack
#PEspotlight- Eli Nunez has been a Project Engineer out of our STRUCTURAL #NewYork branch for over 2 years! He received his BS in #CivilEngineering from @johnshopkinsu. Currently, Eli is in his #ProjectManagement rotation working on a variety of projects; big and small. Anywhere from concrete repairs and enlargements on a multi-million dollar project at the Doric Condominium to post-tensioning and barrier cable repairs on a garage and even small carbon fiber jobs to #strengthen beams! "My favorite part of the program is the flexibility and camaraderie. Because we can search within the company as to which field we like while still being in a very collaborative and non-competitive environment- it makes it a very easy transition from college allowing us PE's to grow at a fast, but efficient pace." #PECD #StructuralGroupWay
Our #PULLMANPhilly branch finished the 3rd of 5 concrete pours for a new elevated pool deck in Cape May, NJ. #Winter is here and added precautions were taken for a quality repair! Beams were covered with insulated blankets to prevent frost from forming on the pour area. Below the deck, heaters ran for over 12 hours to keep the fresh concrete at a suitable curing temperature. Thermocouples were installed to monitor the temperature of the concrete for 24 hours. When the pour was finished, the new deck was re-covered to retain heat while temperatures dropped at night. Our team will be back in the spring to install a new coating system! #ColdWontStopUs #ConcretePour #PULLMANServices #SGstrong #gopro
From our family to yours, Happy Holidays! #TisTheSeason
#PEspotlight- Yasmine Elrashidy started her career out of our PULLMAN New York branch as a summer intern and converted to a full time #ProjectEngineer in 2015. She graduated in May 2016 @instanjit with a BA in #Architecture and BA in #ConcreteIndustryManagement! Yasmine is currently in her #ProjectManagement rotation and working on #masonryrestoration at Seaside Park & Community Arts Center as well as, #concreterepair at the Good Defeats Evil Statue in the #UN. Having the opportunity to take on multiple positions in pursuit of the most suitable position for oneself is why she likes the #PECD program! Check out the rest of Yasmine's story at our website!
Our STRUCTURAL West Project Engineers gathered in the beautiful #SanDiego for their #PECD event! They were inspired to hear about one mans journey from being a Field Engineer leading to a Senior VP as well as, learn the ins-and-outs on how important cost tracking, job budgeting, financial forecasting, and change ordering are used on a daily basis. The team ended the event @houseofhints for a fun activity of the Escape Room! Thank you PE's for being apart of our success and helping create the #StructuralGroupWay
