As a teacher, you must arrive around 30 minutes before opening and expect to leave the building at around 6:00PM-7:00PM. However, with the high turnover rate, be prepared to take home a ton of work. When teachers quit (we lost roughly 10 teachers in the span of 7 months) you will be expected to give up your prep periods to cover those classes.

While working at Success Academy, I typically woke up at 5:30AM, arrived at school at 7:00AM, left school at 7:00PM, and then worked on my lesson plans at home until 11:30PM. This cycle repeated itself M-F every week until I decided to eventually quit. Hope this helps.

NO one is certified. Teachers are forced to enter a program through Hunter to get certified and have to stay at success for two years after gaining certification.
