No actual health benefits

They will say they have health benefits, but they actually do not. No health, dental, or vision benefits. Constantly understaffed due to poor work environment, no work/life balance, and not being paid fairly.

The person that has left negative reviews for this business is a disgruntled form employee and is dishonest. This is a wonderful place to work. The staff is amazing. The animal care is tremendous. There is no mistreatment of animals ever!

Friendly Work Environment

The staff at Summerfields Animal Hospital took me in and trained me from day one. This company really invests in it's employees and provides so many opportunities to grow, which was really important to me. Great work life balance. Fast paced and exciting work environment. Fair pay. I really enjoyed my time at this company and hope to find one similar upon relocation.

Typical day at work:Consistently short staffed, with very little action being taken by management to help mitigate. Unreasonable and manipulative scheduling, making work/life balance nearly impossible. Poor communication between departments causing workplace tension.Management: Very difficult to approach because of aggressive communication. Seems to have too much on their plate to effectively address all workplace issues.

Fun, flexible work place, but not much structure

During my experience at Summerfields Animal Hospital, I found myself having to step back an look in with fresh eyes. There is an obscene amount of unnecessary drama. The supervisor in my area was constantly yelling at the people below her and starting rumors to create drama. Nothing you say is a secret, so don't expect to become friends with anyone. When things go wrong, it turns into a blaming game instead of trying to find out how to fix the problem. However, with this comes a lot of positives. It is great to be able to help animals and keep them happy. The clinic often times has exotics, so that is also a plus. While the hospital is a bit overpriced, the workers definitely care about the animals and will work with patients and owners in order t provide the help that is needed. I wouldn't rate working here very high because of the environment, but there are many ways to make the time there worth it.

Busy work day

very busy from doing anything to answering phone calls all day, to checking in grooms, surgery, and drop off appts until 9:30am. doing surgery from 12-3 mon-fri, and seeing scheduled appointments, work/walk ins, and emergencies.

Great place to work. Very wonderful environment. Always had the most concern for patients. Great benefits. Exceeded the need to care for customers and always put them first.
