I left because I got tired of the 'carrot on a stick' and "the beatings will continue until morale improves" methods of employee motivation. There were "too many chiefs and not enough Indians". This lead to micromanaging and obsessive faultfinding by management. Raises (if any) and continued employment are solely determined by arbitrary and inaccurate methods.
The job wasn't really too bad, and the management really could be flexible, competent and helpful at times- why they usually chose not to be, I don't know.
