It's Security.
Flex Security Officer (Former Employee) - Raleigh, NC - June 5, 2023
You'll be working at multiple different sites and will have to learn their patrols/nuances. The pay is alright for security work and changes per site. You get notifications when a shift is available so sometimes you may work 60 hours, sometimes 40, and sometimes not at all. It's flexible and good for college students or entry-level security officers. You can use your phone at work however are expected to remain vigilant as a security officer. Most of the other officers are good people who always try to do the right thing and do show up on time. If I did not have other priorities I would have stayed with the company longer.
Pros
Relaxed management, paid training, sometimes free lunch depending on the site.
Cons
Shifting between night/day schedules, boredom, almost no room for advancement.

Best Part-Time Job Ever
Unarmed Security Officer (Current Employee) - Durham, NC - May 30, 2023
This job is great for anyone. You do your patrols, stay alert/awake and treat the people with respect, you good money. The Pay is bologna though but imo its not meant to be a full time thing, if you have family/kids this aint something you gon make big bank doing. BUT this a lil side money job. The site managers that I've met have all been super cool, respectable people. Havent had not one issue.

Unorganized and doesn't work with employees. If you call in they'll write you up that same day.
Security Officer (part-time) (Current Employee) - Savannah, GA - May 29, 2023
Unorganized and doesn't work with employees. If you call in for any reason they'll write you up that same day, even with a doctor's excuse. They call it an excused write up. Sunstates Security in Savannah, Georgia really sucks as a whole as far as the staff in the office.

Excellent communication.
Security Guard (Current Employee) - Coca-Cola in Columbus, Ohio - May 28, 2023
Amazing people work for Sunstates Security! Managers, no matter the level, care and are helpful regardless of the situation or circumstance. Due to these managers care, it encourages employees to be more willing to step up when needed due to a tight schedule or an unforseen incident. The level of training videos and helpful insights, made for all employees, is exceptional and extremely beneficial. We are ever learning and benefitting from this company. I would recommend this job, as a security guard, though Sunstates Security, to any and all longing for a career that helps and protects themselves and others. Knowledge and working with great people abounds!
Pros
Set schedules, good management, ever learning and good pay.
Cons
Some people can be cranky coming through your gate. The good news is, a smile and a good attitude goes a long way to reverse this con.

Horrible! Would not Recommend
Security Site Supervisor (Former Employee) - Savannah, GA - May 27, 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? Nothing! Management shows favoritism and lacks leadership skills What is the most stressful part about working at the company? No type of communication from managers, account manager is very disrespectful and doesn’t show any type of compassion for pregnant women or woman with children. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Very Hostile and nasty attitudes What is a typical day like for you at the company? Exhausting and frustrating. Doing managers job while they barely come to work or are outside having multiple smoke breaks as a whole office.

Hostile work environment
Operations Manager (Former Employee) - Greensboro, NC - May 24, 2023
Sunstates Security overall is a great Company to work for, however the Regional Manager is not supportive at all. Since I have been there I have had the impression the he did not want me there. I have been informed by Clients and my site supervisors that he has done nothing but talk negative about me. I was terminated today and have no reason why other than personal reasons. Never been written up and my numbers have been good.
Pros
Company itself great place
Cons
Local Management not supportive

Not real security work
Security Site Supervisor (Former Employee) - Breinigsville, PA - May 15, 2023
It is not security work. Security is making sure a place is actually secure and looking out for suspicious activity or theft. This was logistics. Management and employees were both telling me different things. I was site supervisor and I couldn’t make anyone happy as they were both at war with one another. The tasks expected were impossible to achieve. Horribly managed and not actually security work at all.
