Sur La Table strives to be the inspirational destination for those who love cooking
and entertaining and to maintain a store environment that is well functioning and free from
unnecessary distractions and annoyances.
Employees are expected to look professional, clean and approachable to customers. All store
employees must wear clothing in solid colors including white, black, gray, charcoal, beige, tan,
navy and/or dark denim. Collared shirts (button-down or polo) or turtle-neck shirts must be
worn by all store employees, with the exception of the Resident Chef (RC), Assistant Resident
Chef (ARC), Culinary Lead (CL) and Chef Instructor (CI) who may wear a t-shirt in the
acceptable colors under their Sur La Table branded Chef Coat. All shirts must be free of images,
writing or logos (other than a small manufacturer’s logo) and be solid in color. Pants must be
practical, fit comfortably and be free of rips, tears, patches or other distressing. Athletic wear,
stretch-fabric, leggings, sweatpants, shorts, skirts or capris may not be worn. Shoes should
provide support, comfort and safety. All shoes must be closed-toed and have a closed,
flat heel. Shoe colors must be black or brown. Employees are expected to follow all reasonable
personal grooming standards, including regular bathing and use of deodorant. Perfume,
colognes or highly fragrant grooming products may not be worn. Name badges and aprons are provided.
