small family resort that is growing
FT Front Desk Associate (Former Employee) –  Lake George, NYDecember 27, 2017
location is expanding and making improvements as quick as possible. popular summer resort for families and local expos. guests and management are wondeful but is privately owned so no corporate backing for improvments which occur during off season

Productive and fun place to work with great people
Housekeeper (Former Employee) –  Lake George, NYSeptember 25, 2017
Surfside is a great place to work. There are small kinks like you would have to fold laundry before you go home or wait on others to finish their rooms, but the good out weigh the bad. We always made great tips and had fun at the end of the day
Pros
Good tips
Cons
Short breaks/long hours

Seasonal work
Clerk/Sales (Former Employee) –  Lake George, NYApril 13, 2015
Seasonal work, high stress environment.

At the time of my employment, the resort was going through renovations - so, the quality of the product rarely matched the expectations of the visitor. This meant, unfortunately, that the sales department felt the burden of this transitional period more-so than the management.

When management did encounter this reality, it reacted pugnaciously and with the heavy hand.

There was a fundamental disconnect between the management and the front-line employees, which is natural during such a renovation process, when the management is caught up in building the future product, and understandably looking over the small things that make the guest's experience special.
