Nice place
Customer Service (Current Employee) - Tennessee - May 25, 2023
Indeed Featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedI was skeptical, at first. Training was lacking and it only lasted 2-3 weeks. I am doing well, now. Been working here for 6 months and things are ok.

just from my experience
Phlebotomist (Current Employee) - Yuba City, CA - June 9, 2023
Phlebotomist, I experienced harsh treatment, managers and staff were extremely unprofessional and don't respond well to someone with anxiety and other disability's. fast paced at most labs, call outs are not covered by staff pool. a traveling position where your home base is sometimes intentionally put at a further location even though a closer one is available. your mileage starts from home base and you subtract your travel from your home and to your home base. managers do not like input from staff.
Pros
pay is amazing
Cons
if your not liked they will make your life uncomfortable till you quit.

Managers not supportive
Registered Nurse (RN) (Former Employee) - Berkeley, CA - June 8, 2023
Colleagues want to provide great care but Sutter doesn't want to support employees. Administration urges managers to cut spending continuously. Managers not able to provide safe work environment given constant spending cuts. Working here is not recommended.
Pros
pay is great

Managers not supportive

Toxic work environment
Medical Assistant (Current Employee) - Modesto, CA - May 24, 2023
This place is ok that you work In a toxic work environment, they don’t care about your wellbeing. They want you to overwork, over stress and basically be a robot that makes no mistakes. Management of the departments are cold and could careless what your going through, they retaliate against you for standing up for yourself and say your a problem and not working after you worked yourself to the bone
Pros
Good pay

Nope
RN Charge Nurse (Former Employee) - Burlingame, CA - May 20, 2023
Lacking leadership from the top down. Exploitative work environment, mandatory OT. Great co-workers, horrible culture. Felt like RN's are the enemy not valued team members. Used to be a great place to work that collaborated with staff, but no more.

Challenging, a stressful job in more ways than what the average employee would claim to state.
Medical Transportation Driver (Former Employee) - Sacramento, CA - May 16, 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? Being around the patience’s and listening to them. Trying to figure out a way to make their stay better than what they expected it to be. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Putting up with the supervisor who don’t have know idea of what the employee is currently doing and has no concern for the employees response and want the employee to stop whatever they are doing and this includes getting rid of your human waste in the restroom and doing the job they(supervisor) request you to do right now with no exceptions allowed. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Extremely Stressful and a place with a word of caution ⚠️ What is a typical day like for you at the company? On the positive level would be the supervisors leave you alone. A bad day would be the supervisors is always on your back and won’t leave you alone for no reason at all.

No work life balance
Registered Nurse (Current Employee) - San Mateo, CA - May 15, 2023
If I were a single person with no family or friends and didn't mind working overtime everyday, this is a perfect job. Management and scheduling team will throw you into overtime situations even if you don't want it. During a 2 week period, I worked 10hrs of overtime simply because the scheduling is unfair, too much work given and no case management time for RNs although they are excepted to do so. Also, if you have a fallout patient, then you are held hostage for the day almost like you are on call for the day without any on call pay, although they have another nurse on call.
Pros
Benefits
Cons
No work life balance, mandatory overtime, carpal tunnel syndrome

Okay
PSR - Patient Service Representative (Former Employee) - Remote - May 9, 2023
Training was horrible and learning procedures and protocols was endless. Overall hours and pay is decent. Only negative thing I would say the amount of protocols and procedures you have to learn and remember.

Jobs at Sutter Health
Clients were friendly but the Doctor made things way more stressful than it needed to be
Office Manager (Former Employee) - Modesto, CA - May 4, 2023
I got a lot of experience working here. Unfortunately it was very stressful and the pay was less than desirable. We would sometimes get free lunch and he would sometimes free stuff from the drug reps. Micromanaged to the extreme. Office environment was uncomfortable on many occasions because of manor in which he treated workers and staff on the phone at the hospital. If you have thick skin you will be good fit. Just be cautious and stand your ground if you are asked to do anything shady or against your moral standards.
Pros
Free stuff on occasion
Cons
Stressful

Positive Team environment
Provider Service Representative (Current Employee) - Utah - May 1, 2023
Advancing in different departments is easy here. Management really listens to their employees and recently we our 10 minute break was increased to 15 minutes. They make remote work easier by letting us learn our own grove to things.

There are pros and cons to any job
Staff Nurse ICU (Current Employee) - Auburn, CA - April 30, 2023
Many nurses have been at this hospital for 10 plus years, so there are obviously some great things about working here. However, it can be challenging to adjust to the culture. It's a small, rural facility. The manager for the ICU is great. However, it often feels like I'm being micromanaged by the charge nurses.

This place is great as long as you have initiative to actually work.
Customer service agent ll (Current Employee) - Arkansas - April 26, 2023
This job is not for everyone I know that but if you have the will to work and actually learn. It is a great job! This isn’t an easy remote job that you can just sit around and do nothing all day. You work for you money. You get great benefits including 401k. You get 8 hours of Pto every pay period. You have plenty to do during the day. You get to serve the west bay and San Mateo area. Patients are great! Call are not always back to back so you can breath after each call. You get 8 weeks of paid training as well. This is more than just a customer service job! This is us making a difference in a patients lifestyle. I went from a store manager job to working from home. Even with kids I love it.
Pros
Dental, vision, 401k. Promotions, Pto.
Cons
They don’t have remote outside of certain areas, And the hiring process and start process can be lengthy.

Union hospital
Registered Nurse (Current Employee) - Folsom, CA - April 21, 2023
Most Sutter hospitals are unionized which is good and bad. High seniority means you get your days off. Low means you might sent home for lack of work.

Productive, but no real challenge or career advancement
PSR - Patient Service Representative (Current Employee) - Remote - April 19, 2023
I enjoy working with others and helping them, listening to what they need, utilizing my skills to problem solve and come up with a resolution that better serves the patient
