Reviews about Pay & Benefits for Certified Medical Assistant in Sutter Health
Corporatized and number driven.
CMA - Certified Medical Assistant (Current Employee) - Tracy, CA - March 12, 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? Benefits are decent. Can't say much more. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Lack of training and unreasonable expectations. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Corporate driven, staff has low morale. What is a typical day like for you at the company? Stressful. Not ideal for most.

Busy, management was uninvolved
Certified Medical Assistant (Former Employee) - Santa Cruz, CA - November 15, 2022
Good place to work for growth but you are just a number to the company. Management put on a good front but had no idea what was really going on in the clinic. Very short staffed and unfair scheduling

I worked in the Urgent Care department. We worked 4/10s. We had great team work, the doctors and PA’s are real nice to work with.
Certified Phlebotomist/Certified Medical Assistant (Former Employee) - Yuba City, CA - January 5, 2022
Urgent Care would see anywhere from 120-200 patients a day ( highest volume during the winter flu season). Back office medical assistants do anything from blood draws, assisiting with minor surgeries, injections, bandages, boots, crutches, assisting physicians with patients in exam rooms, running to get MRI’s and X-rays and being prepared for emergencies. We would also answer phones, complete task in the inbox for incoming messages from patients, doctors or pharmacies. Not much sitting time. There are no separate desk for each MA or nurse. It’s standing and walking for a good 8-10 hours. Very rewarding job personally and if you like fast paced this is a good place to work. The hardest part is coordinating time for PTO. A lot of times there are not enough people to cover time off, and other times when there is a full staff then PTO is no problem. Not much different from other companies.
Pros
Hour lunch Benefits ok
Cons
Pay Long hours
