Incompetent management has destroyed a once great radiology dept

The COVID-19 pandemic brought to light many glaring problems & weaknesses of the radiology department’s leadership. Management’s unprofessional & unethical behavior resulted in the resignation of more than 5 full-time radiology employees within a 6 month period in 2020. The dept manager/“lead” creates nonsensical work schedules that can change with less than 24hrs notice. If Swedish/NorthShore took an anonymous poll of their radiology employees (of every imaging modality) they’d find the majority of techs feel undervalued & unappreciated.There are 2 things that made working in radiology at Swedish almost worth it:1. The amazing, hard-working techs (xray, ultrasound, mammo, ct included!). While many techs have left Swedish due to the issues stated above, the ones who remain are truly great people that I respect and admire. 2. The wonderful and diverse patient population.

Small community hospital that’s indendant with a very poor demographic of patients from homeless to drug addicts to foreigners. Benefits are not comparable to market

Nice employees Good benefits, dental, vision, health, there's gym you can go with great employee discoutns. There's pastor ministry inside hospital, they will pray for patients and employees.

What is the best part of working at the company?If you were lucky to fit in with the cliche then you had a good day What is the most stressful part about working at the company?The daily condensing tones from management and the pharmacists and the older tech there What is the work environment and culture like at the company?Very toxic. No one wants to improve the culture there. People have left crying and upset and yet no one wants to change anything about it. The leaders (pharmacists, senior techs, director) are the ones who are involved in the mistreatment What is a typical day like for you at the company?It’s unhappy and stressful, you don’t know what you’re walking into daily
