Not a Good Company to work for
Not Applicable (Former Employee) –  Houston, TXSeptember 25, 2018
If you're not part of the clique, you get blamed for what someone else did if they're part of that clique.
No room for advancement.
You're treated like dirt.
Management is nothing but two faced.

Nothing

Terrible workplace
Cleaning Agent/ Supply Agent (Former Employee) –  Los Angeles, CASeptember 23, 2018
The company doesn’t really care about their employees. We’re just a number to them. If you get hurt or need some time off good luck getting any compensation for it. The management never knows what they’re doing and you’re always being rushed no matter what.
Pros
Free food sometimes, coworkers are cool, you get to work at LAX
Cons
Management is terrible, no such things as “breaks”, all their equipment is old and terrible

Flight Operations/Baggage Coordinator (Former Employee) –  O'hare International Airport, ILSeptember 21, 2018
Day to day duties were fairly simple once you have done it a few times over, more or less just paying attention to the smaller and finer details of things.

Wouldn’t recommend as a long time job. Is more as a temporary job, you gain experience in a year and then start looking for something else instead. Not worth it.
Pros
Experience gained
Cons
Hours, pay

Its not a bad job...
FUELER (Former Employee) –  Bloomington, MNSeptember 17, 2018
The job itself isn't hard it's just very time-consuming. When I was working full time. They would mando you(mandatory overtime) which would take your days away. It's also seniority-based so chances are you won't get weekends off or a morning position cause all the old people have weekends off and the morning positions.
Pros
Easy job
Cons
time consuming if under employed

For the most part the job gives as many as you’d like considering that they ought to since you’re being underpaid the ORD ramp department has just undergone new management and since a lot has spiraled out of control

Ramp Agent (Former Employee) –  Dulles, VASeptember 11, 2018
A typical day at work was very slow and stressful. Taught me how to flag down the planes. Management was manageable but not very cooperative. Workers were disrespectful and didn't help or tell when I was doing stuff wrong. The hardest part of my job was unloading the planes. The easiest part of my job was flagging the plane down.
Cons
payments were bad, workers werent helpful

Life at Swissport
Ramp Supervisor (Current Employee) –  AlbertaSeptember 11, 2018
A typical day at work would always be a problem solving of issues on a flight, manpower issues ( sick calls, dealing with employees personal household problems ) and meeting and addressing few issues on the ramp with airline representatives or station manager. Learned a lot of things on my own specially dealing with union employees, did encounter a few issues before and got a little bit of support from the company. In other words CYA, and a little bit of help from the upper management would have been great if anyone is around. I don't think there is a hardest part of the job, it just depends on how a person deals with it and the approach he or she uses towards the issues or challenges. Everyday and moment is always a joyous part of our job, it just depends on how one person deals with and looks at it.
Pros
You can work with a different types of behaviour.

Just try to work fast and be careful. It can be confusing but try to just ignore the problems and do the job. Don’t let the job control you make your money go home. simple.

RAMP SERVICE AGENT (Former Employee) –  Dayton, OHSeptember 6, 2018
it was an ok job with no benefits, no paid time off, no health care, no overtime pay, no advancement, and when the weather is bad you still have to work outside and the pay wasn't worth the responsibilities.

Cargo Office Supervisor (Current Employee) –  JFK Intl AirportSeptember 6, 2018
Swissport is a very good company to work for, on a typical working day at Swissport the employees and the customer makes the day go by fast. I have learned a lot working for this company such as how to be more responsible. The Management team is also great to work with, they are always willing to assist when one does not always know what to do. The most enjoyable part of my job is coming to work and seeing the employees and the customers, and honestly there is no hard part to my job as it what I like to do so it makes it easy for me.
