Area Sales Manager (Former Employee) –  Baltimore, MDJune 14, 2018
Synagro is owned by an equity firm, so job security is severely lacking due to career future. Terrible executive leadership team with no future direction.

Former Employee (Former Employee) –  Baltimore, MDJune 11, 2018
Personnel within the operating facilities are dedicated, hard working individuals who want to perform well. There is a communication disconnect between personnel at the facilities and corporate management.
Pros
Passion and desire of operations personnel
Cons
Management / Leadership, Poor Communication (Transparency)

Terrible Place to Work
Marketing Coordinator (Former Employee) –  Baltimore, MDMarch 28, 2018
An endless cycle of CEO's shuffling through does not a stable company make. Owned by a Swedish investment group, Synagro is merely a shell looking for a buyer at this point.

Keep missing the mark
Worker (Current Employee) –  Baltimore, MDDecember 19, 2017
This company spends more money on executive retreats than salary and their employees. Out of sync with reality. Such a disconnect with their employees. They are constantly hiring outside of the company as opposed to building from within.
Pros
flexible schedule
Cons

Executive Level organization that doesn't care or appreciate their employees
Worker (Current Employee) –  Baltimore, MDNovember 30, 2017
This company just can't seem to get it right. They put more value in their executives than the people who actually do the work. They do not promote within or present opportunities for growth. They spend money recklessly on executive travel, salaries and frivolous spending until they reach a situation where they are forced to make layoff and restructure the organization. The corporate culture is tensed and extremely melancholy. The turn over rate is extremely high. Enter at your own risk.
Pros
Great parking
Cons
Could care less about employees

Good company with good intentions
Assistant Manager (Current Employee) –  Baltimore, MDSeptember 6, 2017
Synagro has good intentions as a whole. They are in the works of building some really good practices and procedures. The success of these things will depend on the roll out and follow through.
Executive management focuses too heavily on EBITA and looses sight of the big picture. Facilities are pushed too lean in order to help that bottom dollar. It creates an unsafe and stressful environment.

Great if you like being screwed
Operator (Former Employee) –  Baltimore, MDMay 22, 2016
Haven't had a raise in 4 years no room for advancement, glass ceiling. Management does not know anything about the plant that they manage, so nobody is listening to valid proposals, equipment goes long periods of time without maintenance fires are frequent and last but not least they take advantage of the employees

Excellent department and manager
Regional Monitoring Associate (Former Employee) –  Baltimore, MDAugust 28, 2013
Overall my daily routine dealt with tedious investigation on making sure application tickets were matching billing reports. Data being entered into the RMS System and my reports being accurate, well detailed, sent on time to the proper regulations and compliance offices for the various states that I was responsible for. My team all worked together and helped each other out when and if needed. The most hardest part was receiving information in a timely manner from out in the fields with the techs for reporting, but the most enjoyable was even though it was hard to get the information once I did receive it the information was accurate and they fought to get it to me in a timely manner.
Pros
Minimal supervision
Cons
Benefits were costly to the employee

Interesting work environment, interactive, technical
Technical Service Manager (Current Employee) –  Baltimore, MDJuly 28, 2012
Much of the work at Synagro took place on the road, at remote field sites, or at industrial treatment plants/ factories. Learned a great deal about waste conversion processes, recycling and reclamation, and governmental agencies. On average, the management was compelled to solve grand problems and provide uniques services to the industries and municipalities that were our customer base. However, many co-workers developed a cynical attitude which eventually posed a less than ideal work environment, and led to some disorganization and mismanagement throughout the company. Travelling throughout the state on a daily basis was both the hardest and most enjoyable part of the job, due to the long hours, but opportunity to meet and learn from a lot of different people, respectively.
