Very cutthroat environment
Field Technician (Former Employee) – Oklahoma City, OK – November 1, 2018
You start your day with jobs having been dispatched to you, you go to the shop to find out that they do not have all of the equipment you need and they tell you that you have to drive to the customers home for free only to tell them you can’t do the job. Halfway through the day you will be given more jobs without anyone telling you about them. No paid training, the training is literally just riding with another contractor that has been forced to take you along with him for free. The company will only provide some of the things you need to complete a job- satellite, receivers, remotes, and cords- you will provide every other item you need including cable, fittings, wallplates, etc, all of which is a requirement to complete any job. The supervisors will not assist in anything other than words, the company gets about 75% of what you make on a job. You will be forced to travel sometimes 100+ miles and you will be treated like an employee and a contractor, whichever one is more convenient for the company at the time. If you complain at all or bring up the fact that many of the things they do are illegal then you will not be given work until you have learned your lesson. Incredibly toxic environment, you will not get paid for half of the work you do or it will get charged back to you-whichever works best for the company but hey, you can say you have a job.
