I really enjoyed my time at Syngenta. They have a beautiful new building in Durham . A great culture and a very interesting place to work. Unfortunately my time was temporary as this was a contracting position.
Field Worker (Former Employee) – Washington, IA – April 12, 2018
A typical day was laid back and easy going. I learned nore about how to work in a group setting. Management was nice and the end of the season she bought ice cream. Workplace was chill and there was good energy.
Production & Supply Finance Analyst (Former Employee) – Greensboro, NC – March 29, 2018
Co-workers were great, and the atmosphere was fairly stress-free.When I was there, many positions were transferring to Uruguay, so I got to meet some awesome people. I worked to teach them my duties and they picked up very quickly.
Manager (Current Employee) – Washington State – March 28, 2018
Good place to start but not to stay long term. Yearly performance requires someone be tag with poor yearly performance regardless if it's true. Some sites have constant turn-over due to lack of promotional opportunities. Management has a get-it-done attitude. The company implemented a computer software program that add a ton of work to your day if you follow it precisely but completion expectations remain the same.
Field Worker (Former Employee) – Nyssa, OR – March 7, 2018
I was essentially a field hand on experiment fields. It was a lot of hard work, but the managers were great guys and seeing crops grow each day and knowing I was part of creating better yields for both farmers and consumers was a rewarding feeling.
Pollenator and detasseler (Former Employee) – 14658 E 925 North Rd, Bloomington, IL 61705 – February 17, 2018
Great place to work although it is only a seasonal job with no benefits. I would highly recommend a high school student for this job. The best way to get a nice tan, a little exercise and some funny money for summer activities.
working with friends. get a nice tan. playing cards during lunch break

Trait Manager (Former Employee) – Iowa – February 7, 2018
The people are generally the best thing with Syngenta. Change is constant and planning is usually lacking- especially with people planning. The compensation is good and the culture is easy paced but change seems to be constant.
PRODUCTION TECHNICIAN (Former Employee) – Lone Tree, IA – January 31, 2018
If you are right out of college and want paid well to do nothing then this is great for you. They have numerous temp employees that they assign to the full time people so the full time people can sit back and do nothing. I saw management walk by several times and see a group standing around laughing and talking while the temps were working hard and never once said a word to them. I was full time maintenance but was still labeled a Production Tech because corporate doesn't acknowledge a maintenance department on the seeds side so they don't have to pay the higher wages for trade work. There is no chance for advancement and when reviews come once a year they have a rule that at least no less than 3 people will get unsatisfactory reviews. No job on earth should tell their employees that.
