Good place to work.
Administrative Assistant III (Current Employee) –  Omaha, NEJanuary 17, 2018
The company is a good place to work for and a great group of employees to work for. Variuos shifts to work around different schedules. Good Management team. The most enjoyable part of the job is workng with all the employees. I would recommend Syngenta as a good place to work. Everyday is a learning experience.

too much change
IT Support (Current Employee) –  Greensboro, NCJanuary 14, 2018
The company seems to be constantly changing the org structure, with no clear benefit to doing so. I've reported to 7 managers in my time with the company and there's no clear career path.

Solid Company
Information Architect (Former Employee) –  Bazel, SwitzerlandJanuary 8, 2018
Syngenta is a large agribusiness firm located throughout Europe. Most of the work that I did was focused on ontology development, design and implementation, an area that they were working extensively with. Overall, it was a positive experience.

Decent Job
Laboratory Technician (Former Employee) –  Slater, IAJanuary 2, 2018
The job was decent and were never forced to stay late or work weekends unless volunteered to do so. They are very understanding during times of bad road conditions.

Challenging but rewarding work environment
Scientist (Former Employee) –  Longmont, CODecember 11, 2017
My interaction with the larger company was always professional. There are many opportunities for ambitious people.
Some of the challenges come from the "old guard", who have been in the same role for a long time. There was also a fair amount of politics among some of the local staff.
Pros
Many development opportunities.
Cons
Some of the local leadership have a real lack of vision.

Poor site, good company
Production Technician (Field) (Current Employee) –  Lone Tree, IANovember 20, 2017
The Lone Tree plant has poor worker morale due to poorly maintained equipment and managers that don't seem to care, however as a whole I believe Syngenta is a good company to work for.

Sales (Current Employee) –  Minneapolis, MNNovember 8, 2017
New CEO is making changes, but not fast enough in the USA, environment is stressful, cut throat and negativity seems rewarded. However the compensation and benefits are fantastic. Hardest part of job is understanding what is expected.
Pros
Great compensation and benefits
Cons
Cut throat and stressful environment

Productive workplace packaging and handling
Pipefitter Maintenance/Construction (Former Employee) –  St. Gabriel, LAOctober 18, 2017
A typical day at work, packing boxes and filling them up with die through a machine. Then loading them up in rails until they are ready to be handled. I learned to drive a standup lift and how to change the battery to it. The management was really fair it stayed clean in the area. The worst part of the job was maybe the cold heat but its only normal. The enjoyable part of the job was learning.

Lack of Management
Data Entry (Current Employee) –  Saint Paul, MNOctober 12, 2017
Very little opportunities for advancement. This lack of advancement has created a culture that is extremely cut-throat. Do your best to be connected with fellow co-workers, and remember to watch your back.

There is a constrain due to the climate conditions. If there is rain then there is no work for current employees. Beyond that it is a good job to be part of it.

Research Associate II (Former Employee) –  Glyndon, MNOctober 8, 2017
It is like any agriculturally based company the spring and fall are extremely fast paced and hectic but you have time to catch your breath and recharge in the winter.
