Going downhill fast

New management makes it clear they only want employees who tow the line with no opinions of their own. Strict return of office requirements are old school and out of touch with modern work life. They are tracking who is coming in which days of week and reporting that to managers who are measured. who cares if people are more productive working mostly remote. if you are a female don't bother working here. blatant disregard for women

Free coffee, nice colleagues

management with outdated thinking, discourage anything other than following orders or you get laid off

Good place to learn but no growth

Synopsys is an excellent place for freshers to learn but growth and sal hike comes very slow. As a fresher you will exposed to a lot of things and it's fun to learn but at the end of the year you realize there is nothing much for you in terms salary and growth prospects

Good place to work

Good place to work. Benefits are good, interesting projects. Management was good. A very laid back culture (especially on the consulting side of the house) which I appreciated.

Avoid AI teams if possible - They are still trying to figure out and it’s a hit or miss from here

Advise to management:Appreciate the initiative to become more software oriented but know it requires mindset change and current middle management is struck in old ways. A complete revamp maybe required not just enforcing intitiaves.- AI teams work culture is hectic and sporadic. Many people left recently and some leaving due to poor middle management.- Arbitratory deadlines are set by middle management and everyone is expected to just deliver. Leading to burn outs.- Teams are geographically located in US west coast, France, India and Armenia and therefore planning is hard and people will ping you later in the night.- Work life balance: You are expected to put in more than 40 hours per week. They are very strict about it.- Communication skills are quite different. People talk over each, interrupt each other and will not waste a moment to point out your mistakes. Quite rude sometimes.

Pros Salary (if you negotiate well) Benefits like Health Insurance, Life Insurance

Superior-subordinate communication is poor. For example Product/Test Manager does not always support his subordinates.

Loved the work. In beginning, manager provided support. However, it was clear that if my opinion was in conflict with manager's opinion then you were chastised. Instead of allowing open discussion, he would find ways to prove you wrong. It was a case of COPS and ROBBERS--which may work in some cases I guess.

free pizza at top company meetings

vacation hours would reset at end of year, So if you did not take vacation because you were needed to complete important experiments, then your work was for free

Good place to work

For the most part I really loved my job there. My direct manager was great, I had a good team, but they are getting top-heavy with VPs and upper management and seemed to have a lot of lay-offs.

Decent pay and benefits

Good Internship Opportunity

This internship opportunity was a good experience to learn about software and chips and get an introduction into the industry. You get to work on many of their products and work with senior R&D engineers to help improve them.

Not good for future growth

Work is fun, but future can get impacted due to EDA tag. Hard to change jobs if you stay for long in the company. Otherwise place is fun and good work culture

Excellent place to work, in the security field

Great place to work as a security consultant. Very flexible, especially for a large company. Compensation package is generous compared to other large companies.

lots of autonomy and flexibility

High expectations

This is the worst company I worked in 25 years.

I think this company pays the rock bottom lowest salary in this industry. This company doesn't give salary raise to its employees and one has asked this question in a company wide meeting when they reported the quarterly revenue. The CEO answered: we give salary raise to selective employees. In another similar meeting the CEO answer to the same question: Be happy you have a job. So, don't expect a salary raise. In 7 years I got one salary raise: 1.8% and I was a lucky one. Their 401K is a rock bottom in industry: the company contributes annually only 1.5% or maximum $1,500 to the employee 401K. The only good thing at Synopsys is free coffee & tea and the employee stock participation plan (ESPP) where you buy their stock at 15% discount on a 6 month basis. But that is the standard in industry and every company which has stock does the exact same plan. So, if you are a desperate person and don't look for a career and just want a job go ahead and endure a miserable life at Synopsys.

Free coffee & tea

Very bad management.

Good Company But can do better

Overall job is quite interesting and you tend to learn a lot of interesting heuristics at play. Working on EDA software is pretty challenging. Similar efforts put in other software industry can pay you bigger. Junior Engineers don't get paid well due to lot of old ppl sitting with hefty sum. Some teams have matrix management. So gotta deal with managers who dont understand your work. So you need to carefully choose your team that you are working on.

Nice for good work/life balance

A large established successful company with typical culture for such a company. Rather stale environment with restrictive rules. Nice work/life balance

Diverse Company

Opportunities are available and continuous learning is necessary to be successful. Different divisions offer a variety of technologies to explore. Individuals must drive their own success and find areas they are most comfortable.

Sr Engineer

not that bad a place to work with but might be very stressful and no appreciation from managers even with great results compensation is ok... need more flexibility

Productive and very good workplace environment

The workplace culture is very good. A typical workday is like most other SOC/ Asic companies. The hardest part is learning the flow since you would be working with multiple companies and there multiple types of environments. The work environment is relatively relaxed.

People really tried to work together

People really tried to work together; little to no political infighting; usually a fun environment; infrastructure good; adequate office space; opportunities for learning

Good place to work, flexible timing, provide benefits

E2open is a wonderful company with nice benefits. Excellent work culture and get to interact with several clients during the entire life cycle of project implementation.

Declining corporate culture, obsessed with operating margin

No longer the great company it used to be. Obsessed with saving money and improving operating margin, even though stock is at an all-time high. Now more investor focused than employee focused.

Less work-life balance

If you are able to work hard and you do not care about perks, this is the right place for you. You have to depend on yourself for self-improvement.
