You get no where if you aren't in the "clique". Anywhere you go, there is a knife waiting to stab you in the back. Everyone thinks that if they tell on other people it will get them points with the boss. People will lie to your face and turn around and tell other people something totally different. I was let go from made up reasons and since I didn't work the required amount of time (5 or more years), they took away all their contributions out of my 401K. They have cameras in the factory to keep an eye on employees. They disputed my leaving causing me not to receive any unemployment benefits.Health benefits end on the very day you stop employment, even though the last 2 checks they give to you, your final and your vacation, they take out deductions for benefits. My best advice is to not work here. There are huge reasons why they are always hiring. They treat their employees like ----. Everyone is paid a different wage even if they do the same job. Thinking of working here still? Turn around and run, RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN. They will ruin your employment record.

Taconic is a great company but there is no opportunity for advancement or pay increases based on performance. Bonuses are 100% based on global forecast.

Friendly co workers great envirnroment good managers. Very approachable with issues. Non stressful job. Good pay flexible hours. Managers are understanding of work place issues and always try to resolve the issue and if they dont understand they stay and work along side to view the issue first hand. Collaborative problem solving

Management is authoritarian, verbally abusive with a history of physical abuse towards some production workers. The company is always short handed and has trouble keeping employees due to its low pay.
The best part: People below management were some of the nicest hardest working people I knew.

Hardest part of job is learning to deal with a dictatorship that requires the highest level of knowledge with little to no mentoring.
Pros
The hourly personnel
Cons
The managers

Poor management with no job advancement. A complete waste of time. This company gave us the wrong air filtration masks to clean inside a oven using toxic chemicals. Breathing in the toxic chemicals all day explains the employees IQ.

If you are thinking about working for this company in production you may want to think again. The benefits are good if you can make it past 3 months, but not many do. They have a profit sharing program but it takes years to qualify. Also, they have a perfect attendance incentive, but if you're ever even one second late you lose it. Some of the people are nice, but most of them just ignore you and talk behind your back. You're either really busy or standing around doing nothing. If you like to get your hands dirty, work with PFOA's and sweat profusely then this might be the place for you. Not recommended for anyone unless you're really desperate for a job. It's as exciting as watching Teflon dry... Literally! I feel sorry for those who have to work here.

I have worked in a few different setting and this is by far the worst. They treat each shift differently and change the policy by shift. The worst at communication and unwilling to work with each employee. While there I have seen favoritism to employees like no place I have seen prior. As for the communication, I don't think the right hand knows what the left hand is doing especially when it comes to following the policy that is in the hand book.
Pros
Close to home for several people that work in the area
Cons
too many to list.

Taconic is a blast to work at. Management is amazing and quite friendly. Management is also open to listening to new ideas.

Raises are offered, benefits are great and affordable and time off is generous.

The only downside to working at Taconic is the location.

Hot working conditions during summer months. Weekly pay and profit sharing. Regular mandatory overtime due to high turn over rates.

Basic tasks are consistent day to day but different orders help to make it more interesting. Mostly a friendly work place, hard to get along with some of the management. Several managers worried about other areas more than their own. Fixing to many things that were not broken. Managers wanted overtime to be done before regular shift hours. Need to pay close attention to details when maintaining orders and make sure its completed before packaging. Be careful to not clock in to early.
Pros
good benefits, quarterly bonus if production was up
Cons
production workers didn't have a paid lunch and need benefits to better fit workers
