Unorganized and chaotic
LPN - Obstetrics, Pediatrics and Family Practice (Former Employee) –  Tampa, FLJuly 12, 2018
Turn over rate is through the roof. Management is horrible. . CEO has unrealistic expectation of "quality care". Its all about the number of patients seen vs the quality of patient care.

A good place to apply the basics learned in school and an overall great experience since you deal with such a wide variety of people and circumstances
Medical Assistant (Current Employee) –  Tampa, FLApril 12, 2018
This company has been a good introduction to the medical field. It was a terrific stepping stone to apply basic skills and work in a quick-paced environment with coworkers who cared for each other and the patient care that was given(at my location at least). Some would say that there is a lot of work put on to the medical assistant and not enough time to do it, but you do what you can within your designated 8 hours and in my case, stay after if it's needed. It is a beneficial experience since you meet such a wide range of people and learn how to deal and care for them.
Pros
teamwork, benefiting the community, exposure to a variety of different patient cases, application of skills
Cons
no sick leave, unreasonable work load(occasionally), no overtime

Productivity standards are ridiculous
Provider (Former Employee) –  Tampa, FLJanuary 20, 2018
Unfortunately, TFHC culture is driven by a structure modeled after a military team in a war zone. No civilian health organization should treat their dedicated health professionals like machines. With no job security, and constant disapproval because we weren't meeting productivity standards, the stress was constantly palpable. Ironically, the patient no-show rate was over 50%, mostly due to poor phone service and poor access to appointment setters (outside of providers' control). These problems could easily be solved with a more skilled management team, but they are too invested in maintaining their positions while firing competent staff.

Extremely busy, high burn out rates
Family Nurse Practitioner (Former Employee) –  Tampa, FLSeptember 25, 2017
This was a very difficult place to work. Constantly changing staff and providers so it was difficult to get into a routine of sorts. The patient load was very high, so this made documentation extremely tiresome and some days working > 12 hours including weekends, just to finish work from the week before.
Hard work-life balance.
The providers here are wonderful and have a love to work for the underserved. I made many friends in this company.
Pros
strong relationships, lots of experience
Cons
poor organization, overworking, high burn out, low compensation

It's an ok place to work
MEDICAL ASSISTANT (Current Employee) –  Tampa, FLJuly 10, 2017
It's an alright company to work for. It's a good place to get experience and training. There's no room for advancement. You get benefits which is nice but it can get expensive to keep. Everyone thinks pay could be higher or just be better. Things change alot within the company and you just have to go with the flow. It doesn't really matter what the lower people within the actual working clinics think or how we work. It's hard when you know how things work and administration thinks that they know what's best for all like they deal with patients on a regular basis. Then wanting to perhaps start school well there is no part-time option to work you might as well quit. Depending on your job title if you end up with another job and put in notice they might just tell you to leave then and don't worry about your notice.
Pros
Depending on your work site you might end up working with great people

Executive Assistant to President/CEO (Former Employee) –  Tampa, FLJune 25, 2017

Pros
Gifts from Company
Cons
Tour of duty was not balanced. It was who you worked for.

Great Stepping Stone
MEDICAL ASSISTANT (Current Employee) –  Tampa, FLDecember 5, 2016
A typical work day consist of 28 patients per provider plus walk-ins. I learned how to work the lab, pediatrics, podiatry, and optometry. Administration will come out and listen to your concerns and promise change but will not change anything. your co-workers will either become family or be your worse enemy. The hardest part is the unrealistic expectations they have. the most enjoyable part of where i work is the family we created. we learned to solve things on our own an not have any administration involved
Pros
Friendships, experience
Cons
administration, pay, work expectations

Medical/Dental Receptionist (Former Employee) –  Tampa, FLAugust 7, 2016
I loved my team and how well we worked together in helping out a patient or each other. However this company does not pay enough for the tasks, and our going above and beyond for a patient. But there were those patients who made it all worth it.
Pros
Hour-long break, Dental/Vision/Medical benefits
Cons
Pay

Medical Assistant/ Lab Technician (Former Employee) –  Tampa, FLApril 13, 2016
No advancement, pay sucks, management shows favoritism of same race, Must speak Spanish to fit in with Spanish employees, racial conversations in hallways. I wouldn't recommend anyone to work here unless you can mind your own business.

Patient Navigator (Former Employee) –  Tampa, FLFebruary 26, 2016
I made phone calls to patients to remind them of the health checks their were due according to their insurance company. Made appointments for them on the doctor's schedules. Type the results of my phone calls on a spreadsheet that was later sent to the insurance companies.
