Train customers of all ages in boxing, weight lifting and exercise techniques, on use of equipment, safety precautions, and nutrition plans. Evaluate abilities, needs, and physical condition of individuals, and develop training programs to meet special requirements (including cardio-vascular training and stretching).
A typical day consisted of class room cleaning, curriculum's, and paperwork management. I've learned that a lot more was asked "Staying late " then agreed on once interviewed. management many times was unreliable do to lack of correct pay checks. Also proper equipment for class such as pads for kicking and punching. However the most enjoyable part was the ability to work with special population children with autism.
Management is very.. all over the place. Very poor management, one person will tell you one thing and the next will tell you another and expect for you to find a middle ground between it all to do your work. They expect you to close sales which is understandable but when it comes to trapping someone in a contract and helping a member of the gym. Contract trapping seems to trump all. The co-workers are very pleasant and so are the members but working there is more of a waste of time. Also commission is paid to you 2 months after someone has signed a contract so waiting for your money will happen as well as problem with checks.

Had a great 2 years with the the company they showed me how to sell memberships, I started out as a porter and got promoted to front desk then there on learned how to do smoothies in the retail side.Overall am a jack of all traits thanks to Tapout.
Fun place to work. No benefits. At times stressful environment. Owners tend to micromanage. Outside marketing was a waste of time. Opportunity for advancement non existent.
No benefits. No paid vacation. No pto days. Small commission
A typical day at work involves a manager and owner yelling and undermining you in front of everyone. They practice favoritism and isolation. If you are good with other employees and gym members, they will use divide and conquer tactics to make the workplace culture HORRENDOUS! I learned to stay quiet and nod, your opinion doesn't matter only the two people that's been there from the beginning, they don't pay for their payroll mistakes, no accountability from management. If you are a people person, then interacting with the members is probably the only enjoyable part of the job. You're better off working somewhere else.
Free gym membership and discounts on merchadise.
HORRIBLE management, terrible pay, horrendous workplace culture.

You encounter so many great people.
People get so upset for no reason
Very weak management. Very disorganized. Owner brings his kids and they run around and play with the equipment and get hurt. He does buy pizza and soda often for employees if his kids get hungry though and breaks are lenient and awesome.
Free food sometimes, nice lengthy breaks
Kids running around the gym constantly
