Accountant (Former Employee) –  Anchorage, AKApril 6, 2012
TDX has 24 subsidiaries. Not all were large and working. But the corporation was very diversified. Reconciling each Balance Sheet account, especially the intercompany accounts, through consolidation each month left a lot of room for learning. No two months were ever the same. On top of the Financial Statements there were 52 bank accounts to be reconciled and 8 subsidiaries with over $1 million in assets to keep track of. Days were very full. Six of the subsidiaries had their own accounting staffs so work was not completely over whelming. Most of my co-workers were shareholders in the Corporation. Learning and understanding their culture made the days interesting. I would not have left but the CFO moved jobs and recruited me over to Marsh Creek LLC. I came to TDX as a temp part-time to reconcile and automate the fixed assets and gradually was given or assumed all the other duties from the Controller. Thus there was no tittle to my position,
Pros
learning.
Cons
