One of the best places to work
Media Producer & Desktop Support Engineer (Former Employee) –  San Francisco, CAJanuary 24, 2018
The best thing about TechSoup is the mission itself. On top of that the people and the culture make for a pleasant work experience. The work is challenging but rewarding.
Pros
Events, friendly people
Cons
non-profit pay

great mission statement, but leadership is scattered
Senior Manager (Former Employee) –  San Francisco, CAOctober 22, 2015
no clear leadership from above, stems from a multi-CEO approach
always changing organizational structure and does not follow through with strategic plan goals

management knows no boundaries and overworks you

Productive workplace, good people, great mission
Program Coordinator (Current Employee) –  San Francisco, CAMay 3, 2015
TechSoup is a great place to work, because you are pushed in great ways and your coworkers are all amazing people--fun, energetic, and happy to help. However, there is always a demand for more work, so if you are looking for a place where you can kick back and not be challenged, this is not the place for you.

Excellent work environment and co-workers
Metrics & Analysis Team - Senior Data Analyst (Former Employee) –  San Francisco, CAJanuary 17, 2013
I mainly worked on ad hoc reports, monthly, quarterly, and yearly reports. I learned how to use Business Objects and SQL knowledge, Excel skills. The Management was easy to interact with and my co-workers were excellent to work with. The hardest part of the job would have to be the quick deadlines. The most enjoyable part was interacting with co-workers and getting the reports data they needed in a time efficient manner.

Great work environment, stable for a nonprofit, still stretched a bit thin
Technical Writer and Business Analyst (Former Employee) –  San Francisco, CAJune 5, 2012
Loved working for this place. Worked on contract and funding was finished, so had to look elsewhere. Would recommend it to anyone, as long as they're aware they'll probably be working more than usual for less than market - like most nonprofits.
Pros
absolutely great place to work, absolutely great people to work with, absolutely stable model (especially for a nonprofit), forward-thinking and problem-solving, really and genuinely working to make a positive difference and not just sell toothpaste or whatever, flexible towards moonlighting as long as your responsibilities are taken care of, great with work/life balance
Cons
staff is stretched a bit thin, money is a bit tight, management sometimes make decisions that affect technical matters for non-technical reasons
