Zero work/life balance. Poor pay for amount of work demanded
Innovation Technician (Former Employee) - Melbourne, FL - August 25, 2023
So now work for this dictatorship. They will say they are there to help you succeed, but in all honesty, they care about their own bonuses and making them money. They will stress you out about leads and generating leads. As a field tech that’s not in your job description. They demand an insane amount of work but pay you Pennie’s for the work that is much harder than some of the other job titles. Have a family? You won’t long working for this company, 13-15 hour days in some cases. While management goes home at 330-400. The words partnership, communication, friend, don’t mean a thing. Want a raise that is well deserved or annual review that they promise? That won’t happen, over looked for 90 day review. Annual increase got pushed back 4 months, and when they did give an increase, it was an insult. Doesn’t cover cost of living or taxes. As I began this review, the company and the subsequent branches and managers are a pure dictatorship and don’t care for their technicians.
Cons
Pay, work/life balance

Don't waste your time.
Technician (Current Employee) - Morris Plains, NJ - August 12, 2023
This branch was once a place I'd like to retire, however over the years it has just gotten worse. The lack of experience of management makes it hard to get clear cut answers on how to resolve issues for customers. Managers only have meetings about what the company expects or things they want done but they never care to ask what they can do better or even so much as how you're work weeks are going. The branch manager is so strung up about numbers that he could care less if your overworked, all he can think about is his bonus being affected. They throw you into roles expecting you to know what to do or say without proper instruction or training. This branch is most definitely not the place you want to waste time at. This branch can easily be compared to the Titanic, the ice Berg is sure to get hit, the ship is going to sink eventually.
Pros
Benefits
Cons
No overtime, overworked, underpaid, no managerial support.

Okay Gig
Technician (Former Employee) - Toledo, OH - July 13, 2023
Not bad, if you like working on your own, and the training was decently comprehensive. Management was good, and the other drivers tend to be helpful.

Worst Company To Work For
Innovation Technician (Former Employee) - Midlothian, VA - May 13, 2023
It is so much that makes Terminix at 13513 E Boundary Rd a bad place to work. First off, if you see a position available for Termite Technician, RUN! You will not just be getting rid of termites. You will spend majority of your time in crawlspaces and attics. They don’t tell you that in the job description so BE AWARE. Management is horrible when it comes to customer service. When you tell them to get something scheduled, most of the time you won’t. Then you will have the customer calling you and at that point what can you do? You have no life outside of work. That 8 Hour shift they say you have, forget about it. You lucky if you get home before 9, especially if you have to take to box truck back to the office and you are in Charlottesville. All around it’s just a shady place the work. I would strongly recommend to think about before working at this Terminix branch.
Pros
Nothing
Cons
Everything about it

Low pay and poor treatment
Technician (Former Employee) - Canton, MI - May 3, 2023
I heard the branch manager say that they want to "starve out techs that complain" so they work harder to make a little money or leave. They have the idea here that it's there way or the highway and that's ok but not when they are constantly mistreating and having a lack of appreciation for the team.

Must be good with time management
Technician (Current Employee) - Middleburg Heights, OH - April 24, 2023
Overall a good place to work. Must be personable and willing to schedule your own appointments. Good time management and organization skills. Better to be a hands on learner
Pros
Make your own schedule
Cons
Busy work

Since they were bought out, the leadership is going craY
Route Technician (Former Employee) - Petaluma, CA - April 19, 2023
Terminix management seems to be reeling since they were purchased by Rentokil. They are doubling down and being extremely hard on all of their people to appear more valuable to the new ownership group. Terminix used to be a good place to work but much has changed for the worst. You used to be golden if you finished your route, worked and drove safely, and your customers were happy, but now nothing is ever good enough.

Jobs at Terminix
Technician positionsA horrible slog that never seems to end.
Innovation technician (Current Employee) - Morgantown, WV - April 13, 2023
I couldnt even list all of the ways this branch, and i assume terminix as a whole, is run so horribly. If youre looking for work here be prepared to have upwards of 60 hours in a single week and management who doesnt care that you'll never have any free time to take care of responsibilities outside of work or spend time with family and friends. The work is either incredibly boring or absolutely back-breaking and be prepared to drive for hours to and from jobs so i hope you like podcasts or something. Management does not and will never care about you and dont let them guilt you into working any harder than the absolute bare minimum. Tldr: save yourself the time and effort and work somewhere else.

Unrealistic and underpaid
Technician (Former Employee) - Nebraska - April 7, 2023
Unrealistic schedules, too much drive time, not enough pay, unqualified branch management. Management is unsupportive and under too much pressure themselves.

Only cares about numbers
Innovation Technician (Former Employee) - Omaha, NE - March 17, 2023
Management only cares about the money and looking goof for their bosses, and they scammed customers day by day. They expect you to be a dog and listen to their every command, even if it is unethical and against standards. They have very little eyes for safety and hesitate buying PPE.
Pros
Paid lunches but also no time to have them, because they don't schedule time in for them.
Cons
I could make a 10 page essay on this.

12 hours of meetings a month you don’t get paid for if you are not hourly..
Technician (Former Employee) - Roselle, NJ - March 5, 2023
Worst pay plan ever.Forces you to take a loan you are taxed on twice. Forces employees to take pay plan. Horrible place to work. Customers rate you and they decide if you get more money or less. Absolutely horrible.Strongly exaggerates their expectations if you get a negative review you cannot challenge it no matter how far fetched the customers claim is of the tech.
Pros
Not many
Cons
To many to list. Go somewhere else

Good pay - Toxic culture
Technician (Former Employee) - Madison Heights, MI - February 21, 2023
Working at Terminix offers good pay but comes with a ton of stress. Turnover rate is about 60% a year with people that make more pretty good money. They quickly realize it isn't worth it. We get severely micro managed on things like cancels (even during the winter), suspended services (for customers not paying) and route completion (which if you show up to work is out of our control). We even have to go into the branch to do call nights off the clock. We call any customers that have refused to pay or owe money. Management says its a punishment and they even have administrators that do this as a part of their job. They still make us come in off the clock and do collections anyway. . If you need something for a few months and just want to get some basic training in the industry before finding something better this isn't the worst place to start.

Not bad. Management was okay. Had to schedule our own route which has it's pros and cons. Pay was decent and it is commission based so depends on how hard you which.

Everyday is a new adventure so problem solving is the name of the game.
Route Tech (Former Employee) - Davenport, IA - December 20, 2022
It is a blue collar job run by a white color company. The work itself is self explanatory and was never an issue for myself. I enjoyed problem solving and helping people in need. The issues I found was with how the company was run. So much focus on apps, which didn't work most of the time. Customer retention, even if you solved their initial problem. Supervisors calling you about metrics while your knee deep with pests or under house dealing with a live trap. Sometimes sales people will sell things to customers to solve problems they don't have. Now if you don't have ethics, this won't be a problem for you. If you do, then you might have problems with management. I did learn a lot from other employees, which will benefit me for the rest if my life.
Pros
Take home vehicle, decent pay at times
Cons
At the mercy of your customers, A ton of corporate BS.
