A recruiter will bring you in for an in-person interview. You will be asked questions about your work experience and skills. The goal is to get to know you – what kind of opportunities you are looking for (and open to) and learn more about your employment history – in order to help you find the right fit. You will also be asked to complete some paperwork. Assessments may be done, depending on the types of positions you are interested in.

After the interview, a recruiter will follow up with you regarding specific job opportunities. You will also have access to our job bank, where you can feel free to submit yourself to any position that is of interest to you, and someone will contact you to discuss the job.

TERRA doesn’t require drug testing in order to provide job search support, but certain TERRA clients do require pre-assignment drug testing as a condition of placement. In order to be eligible for these positions, prospective candidates must submit to a test. Types of drug tests vary by client requirements, but most drug screenings are performed in office, through an oral swab, or at a local clinic.

The most important thing to remember is that an interview with a staffing firm is a “real” job interview. Make a good first impression. It gives a recruiter confidence that you will make a good first impression with clients, too. Here are some tips for a successful interview: show up on time, come in with an idea of the type of work you want to do, listen carefully to the questions asked and be clear and concise in your answers, be ready to provide examples and talk about your accomplishments, be able to talk about your past experience in a way that someone that is not in your industry can understand, don’t talk negatively about previous employers (just stick to the facts), and have a couple of questions to ask at the end of the interview (about next steps, etc.)
